  1. I know that this seems like a huge moot point and everything. My process for acquiring such is to first search on howsyouredge, and then google for the label site, and finally the bands myspace or any other last resorts. Are there any better ways of doing this, any more well rounded resources? I've just recently been checking out Dead Format and it just doesn't seem to be so complete. I'm considering trying to work on an absolute resource for as much as possible, was wondering if anyone else is doing this, or anyone else would be interested in helping put it together, It'd be time consuming, stressful, and a huge pain in the ass, but how glorious would it be, and how much do you wish for this every day? Thoughts?
  2. ahah works for me. i involuntarily took the first when i painted my room, and happened to find it.
  3. Why not just add an $80 2x4 model? because he sold his 4x4 hahaha
  4. the album cover is one of the nicer ones i have seen. |I bought the last Guns Up! LP based solely on album art, having heard the record already and thinking I'd rather listen to No Warning.
  5. two actually! i have to admit, i was more psyched about the artwork and the two artists i really love working together, than the music on the record itself.
  6. i like tiny things. putting it on the shelves really made it pale in comparison to how much it looked like before. whatever, shit's grown 3x what it was in a year. suck it.
  7. + put up my christmas tree + listening to hum + got $100 worth of records today for free - room is messy - no one is calling me about the x-mas party at the skatepark tonight. - i'm bored - i'm hungry - no heat, windows that don't close all of the way. - no alcohol.
  8. i don't really live at home anymore, i live next door to my Dad and Stepmom, they have a tree. My Grandfather passed last month, so I guess since he's not here and no ones gonna be at this house for Christmas, it's pointless for them to put up a tree. My mom has like 3 trees. I'm gonna find whatever tree my Grandfather left behind, and put it up, I think. at least to please myself.
  9. i thought it might be a fun thing. I really just love seeing floor to ceiling wall to wall stack crate upon crate upon crate of records everywhere, it drives me insane and makes me want to buy more and stop caring about absolutely everything else.
  10. swing over to tampa/st pete. hit up vinyl fever, daddy kool, sound idea, and bananas. there's bound to be something you like between the three.
  11. I don't have a tree this year. there are wreathes on both of the screen doors in front of my house. That's it. hasn't felt much like Christmas for me lately.
  12. God, I was a little bitch about my cds, back in the day. I counted them every single day, had them in alphabetical/chronological order, much like I have my records, but I mean I was hysterical about my cds. It was stupid. I only had like 300, but I had nothing else to be insane about at that time. I have less than 50 cds now,and I am cutting way the fuck down. I haven't even bothered to look at the store on here too much, because I know that too many cheap records will add up and I'll be in overdraft city for a year.
  13. I hope not. haha. I don't know how quickly drama elevates here. I'm just hoping to see visual representation of how quick people go bankrupt.
  14. I've been buying "punk" records since late 03. I didn't get into collecting too much til 04/05, just prefered records to cds and never had money for either. I'm just so shocked at the growth from one crate, to two crates, to three crates, to a monster shelf in a little over a year. I can't wait to have walls and walls and walls of records.
  15. I was looking through my photobucket for something, and came across a picture of my records from the Summer of 2006. And it was so tiny back then, granted comparatively to other posters, I'm sure what I've got is measly. But this might be fun. Post pictures (dates too, if possible or at least time span) to show how much your collection has grown. June 25, 2006 December 22, 2007
  16. havent cared about cds in like 6 years. so i won, i guess.
  17. How'd you swing that? well, if you want to get technical it wasn't really free. i traded in the remainder of the cd's i had when i was in middle school and got 100 dollars store credit and nabbed the expensive stuff and axl cause i never bothered to buy it back in time when i should have. purchasing those cds was so long ago that the money seems like it never existed. also purchased: Dead boys - young loud and snotty re-issue disciple - scarab planes mistaken for stars - spear heading the sin movement ampere/ringers split last night.
  18. joy division - closer re-issue isis - panopticon re-press tegan and sara - the con morrissey - you are the quarry against me - reinventing axl rose for free.
  19. also..."that's what she said" for good measure.
  20. fucking yes. what model? rega p-1 Bowers & Wilkins DM303's. No picture of my Marantz 2238, but i love it a lot and it sounds awesome.
  21. i don't know. i actually said most of the initial post cause i've had a rotten day, if i didn't need to go to bed i'd probably give the lp another shot right now cause angry is just what i need right now. american nightmare is a lot more special to me, i don't really care for the give up the ghost material. suicide file was a lot more fun musically, but lyrically american nightmare was more relevant, because i wanted to get away from problems a lot and drive my car into trees all the time blasting background music.
