Fuckers said that they play it once in every city they go to. The second time they came through here they said their manager told them we already got to see them play it. Their manager must not have been paying attention because I saw em both times and I'm pretty sure I never heard it. I might have zoned out for 18 minutes though. well, seeing as though their manager is a raging alcoholic (or atleast thats what i gathered from watching Backstage Passport), he probably had absolutely no fucking idea what he was talking about.

^ Really appreciate your response to my inquiry about purchasing a new turntable. As you can tell, I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to setting one up with my speakers, etc. I understand what you mean when you say buying an expensive turntable isn't going to solve my "audiophile" tendencies, that i'll have to of course follow-up with decent set of speakers and a quality pre-amp to hook my stuff up to. Now my only real problem buying used is i live in a small town, so my only option of buying a turntable is via the internet (which kinda cancels out the whole used thing, because i can't physcially examine/use the turntable prior to buying it) Like i stated earlier, I was looking @ either purchasing the RPM 1.3 or the Pro-ject Debut iii, and then gradually upgrading my phono amp to something of a lot higher quality. Would this be a bad move on my behalf? I figure the "Behringer PP400 Ultra-Compact Phono Preamp" thats $20 on amazon should satisfy my needs for connecting up my speakers (for the mean time atleast). Speakers i have are very decent quality, so i don't foresee needing to replace them for quite awhile. I would obviously upgrade to a higher grade of preamp once i get more money... The only concern i have with buying something used is the fact that it may die out on me after several months. I figure if i'm willing to spend the money on something, i'd feel much more rest assured it would be in the highest of quality coming straight from the manufactuer. Now, i've been looking at the Pro-ject 1 Expression III, that looks like it has built in RCA female phono sockets. I'm assuming this would let me surpass buying a phono amp, to where i can run my speakers through my stereo system, and then into the player itself? I think i've made the decision to go with the RPM 1.3 and 'temporarily" purchase the cheap Behringer PP400 Ultra-Compact Phono Preamp (as mentioned above) to use to hook up my speakers (Optimus STS-800). Is this all i would need to begin my basic setup? Neither did i. Definitely caught me by surprise when i was looking through the "new arrivals' section. Cost me $30, but for a 3XLP... that's not too bad. Real good quality as well. Also it's pretty cool that they have it hand numbered out of 1500.

One of my favorite releases by MF Doom has apparently been pressed (or dare i say REPRESSED) in a limited amount. 1500 total pressed (2XLP, hand numbered), with a bonus gold 12 inch of b-sides and remixes. Found a copy @ Earxtacy in Louisville today. Spinnin' it now and sounds incredible... maybe i missed something, but i don't recall ever hearing anything about this?

Will definitely look into the Pro-Ject RPM1.3. Just trying to get an idea as to what's out there. Speaker wise, i have two giant towers that each have a built in amp (can't think of the brand right now). What exactly does a pre-amp entail (and how much does one cost)? Also, don't really care if it's used or new... just looking for better sound quality, and something I know won't fall apart on me after years of use. Thanks for the comments so far!

Looking for some minor advice. Birthday is coming up in a week, and i'm planning on purchasing a lot higher quality record player than the shitty Crosley CR49 i have now. Am looking to spend up to $500. Would really like a player that has an automatic arm and that i can hook up to my external speakers. Any recommendations? Many thanks in advance!
