  1. how common do you think it is? So sellers are bidding on their items using someone else's account to jack up the price. They could get burned if they don't get a higher bid and have to eat the fees. I wonder if ebay checks to see if there is constantly the same bidder on someone's auctions. I guess a sure sign would be someone always putting up items that have "sold" before. I have been not paid before and re-listed, but that was only once. why people got to be jerks?
  2. i have the same record and i think it should be from the 1st press. I bought it when it came out as i recall. Doghouse did the same color scheme for HWM's Forever and Counting and pressed 200 on each (red, blue, and gold). So it could possibly be the same....
  3. that blows. I have never had anyone not send a record because it went too low for them, but have been worried a few times because i picked up something real cheap for whatever reason (bad listing, bad luck, etc.). That's the inherent risk of putting something up for auction - something you accept when you list it. If you want a guaranteed minimum then set a higher initial price or reserve. People win and lose everyday and sometimes you just got to eat the sh*t sandwich. Doesn't ebay frown on such practices? That said, its better you got a refund rather then "...it must be lost in the mail."
  4. I have been fairly lucky with the limited number of stuff i have unloaded. However, i had the Rain on the Parade Body Bag E.P. (clear of 100) go with only one bid (~5.00). It has sold for north of 50 beans in prior auctions. Luckily, it balanced out with the 1st snapcase 7" (clear blue of 51) that went for nearly a c-note. i guess some people really like snapcase. weird.
  5. After seeing some records go cheap recently, I am curious about what is your greatest Ebay fail. That is, what records did you put up expecting riches beyond believe but, sadly found out you were only one of two people who really wanted that Hanson test press?
  6. must have picked up one of the last black copies. I got back to my office just after 4 bells and ordered it up. I forgot how good this album is - have been rocking it out for the last two weeks straight.
  7. it is now 12:49. i have only so long of a break and i cant really order the cro-mags records while 10 feet under 5 C water. come on punctuality, don't fail me now....
  8. yes, agreed. i think fortuna spun me wrong. I am definitely wary of ordering shirts and records again, particularly at the height of summer. on a semi-related note, i have never had a problem with the shrinking shrink wrap. I have some records still sealed and many with the shrink still on them. The only exception is a german yuppicide bootleg that shrinky-dinked in my 3rd floor heat. Luckily, the record was not in the sleeve.
  9. Hot Water Music - live in chicago #3 7" - waiting. Life's Blood Defiance 7" - TEST PRESS - from final Vermiform pressing (late 90's). Would strangle your grandmother for the original combined effort test. Give s/t LP
  10. i was wondering if anyone else has received warped records when shipped with t-shirts or other items in the same package. I have never had a problem with records warping during shipping, but recently i received two separate shipments that included new records that warped and t-shirts from different labels (no idea and rev). One had a 6" and a shirt - the vinyl looked like a salad bowl. The other had an LP, 7" and two shirts. The LP looked like a constipated grimace as it spun, but the 7" was only slightly warped. They were both tightly packed in record mailers, 7" and LP boxes respectively. I know records will warp if there is unequal heating/cooling so maybe the shirts trapped heat against one side of the record. Plus, it also August and they were shipped from CA and FL to MD. Anyone else notice this phenomena?
  11. Should one re-glue 7" / LP covers that have become unglueed. If so, what is the proper glue to use? I imagine elmer's and gorilla glue are out, but there are several types of fancy paper glue out there.
  12. Hot Water Music for sure! Fuel for the Hate Game was a game changer, a watershed moment in hardcore history. Every successive album is a bit different, but still awesome. If you want a good variety of material, i would check out "never ender." Also, Small Brown Bike, particularly dead reckoning and ou own wars. hands down awesome. the bike and HWM got me through the late 90s
  13. http://www.deadformat.net/tradelist/deadreckoning&view=haves There is a picture in my deadformat list.

  15. I have a copy of "something to write home about" on clear orange (with a little black smudging). I thought i bought it when it first came out (directly from doghouse) and assumed it was from the 1st press. Maybe not. If it was repressed it wasn't too long after it was originally released based on where i was living at the time.

  18. except me i suppose. i guess they're still around. I dug white trash when it came out and the longest line ep is pretty good. but after that... I saw them last on the punk and drublic tour. not too bad i guess. That was one of the last City Gardens shows in Trenton, NJ. Sad times. Back in the day John Stewart used to work there. The last decade belonged to HWM, Murder by Death, Milemarker and little else.

  20. crazy prices for NOFX vinyl. really? who knew. I have a copy of the longest line on purple that i bought when it came out. Apparently, it is one of the priciest records i own. Way more than the turning point lp on clear. kooky. All that being said, i would like start today on purple, the jade tree lifetime lps on color, and 1st Crucial Youth 7" on Yellow. let's make this happen.
