  1. The stampers get wicked hot, > 1000F, but maybe for some reason one black nugget was left on the stamper or something or the record was on the bottom of the spindle and a rouge nugget was pressed into it. it just kind of blows as it was a sweet find - HWM Caution - Red/Yellow split. That affected track is unplayable. Otherwise, it's in near mint condition.
  2. sweet find. if you're looking to part with it drop me a line.
  3. I used to refuse to spend over ten bucks for anything. However, i been on a buying binge lately and have dropped over 60 beans on several records. Well over for one HWM test press in particular. It was a bidding war and i won. I sold a NOFX record for > $500 once. i bought it new for 8 bucks in high school. nice.
  4. I recently picked a record that appears to have something stuck/melted to it's surface. I got it as old unsold stock from a distro, so in theory it has not been touched since being packaged. When i took it out of the sleeve i noticed a small black spot (~ size of sesame seed) stuck to the one side of it's surface, which is colored clear vinyl. It is flattened, hard, and won't come off. It appears like it might be a piece of black vinyl squished into record. There a a few smaller black spots inside the record. However, this spot is above the grooves and has a definite edge. If a piece of black vinyl got on the biscuit or was left on the stamper i would think it would melt completely. Unless a piece fell on the still warmish record and then it cooled in place, but i am not sure how that could happen. Any thoughts?
  5. saw buzzoven at CBs once - one of the craziest shows. They were throwing firecrackers into the crowd; the roadie broke a bottle over the singer's head, he was unfazed, but the girl next to me had to pick glass out of her arm; the singer started swinging the mic stand into the crowd and then preceded to smash the vocal monitors with it. good times.
  6. 5/4 - Last Call! check my list below or my full deadformat list (in signature). I will be moving at the end of the month and want to slim the collection down. Whatever doesn't move will probably go on ebay. There are a few things on my want list, namely some HWM 7"s and the Lifetime seveninches LP. 7. awesome. but, not matter the root cause it should absolutely include: handsome devil what difference does it make? how soon is now? girl afraid big mouth strikes again there is light that never goes out. and if you're slowing things down please, please, please let me get what i want.
  8. Gaslight: i am "from" New Brunswick - i dont know them, they dont know me. i heard a few songs. i don't think i like them. hard to whippy kick to. they played with murder by death and it sold out in philly. i was upset - i blame them. the end. fair enough, you don't need to own every single record of some bad band. however, i like so precious little these days. so i don't feel bad for owning a shit ton of HWM. on split red/orange, on egg drop yellow, on mushy purple on whatever. they are awesome. nuff said.
  9. Hopefully, i once again don't double post..... The HWM / Bouncing Souls split Cassettes are now up at Chunksaah with your choice of red or white shell.
  10. I just bought some records from aaronx, carnevoodoo and missjen. All were excellent sellers - quick shippers and the records were in fine condition. Plus, i picked a a custom screened LP sleeve from patrickemmons, which came out fantastic.

  12. i will not be the only person who posts about how awesome the crucial death stuff is... it can not stand. until then. I was out at Lake Artemisia yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by what i saw. We has plenty of ring billed gulls, canada geese, ruddy ducks, american coot, pie billed grebe, some very handsome hooded merganser, and a pair of ring necked ducks. They were sleeping, i didn't bother to wake them. Had a nice walk around the lake and then got some Trinidadian for lunch - I do love me some doubles. All in all, a nice day to be out. Had the day off today, caught up on some stuff and rocked out the cro-mags age of quarrel reissue. I was able to snag a black copy. The lathe trimmed a little too much off one side (?) of the record, but it did get any of the grooves so it play fine. excellent. what else? what else? If you haven't checked out blogged and quartered than you're missing out. http://bloggedquartered.blogspot.com There are some great rips there. that is all. for now.
  13. There is a pic of it on the no idea board. http://www.noidearecords.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1418
  14. and just to keep it going i just about emailed this guy before reading the full post. some sweet records though...

Life's Blood / Sticks and Stones split 7" - Radcore/Forefront - Reversed labels, Total Press of 2000 Life's Blood / Sticks and Stones split 7" - Radcore/Forefront - Normal labels, red on sleeve, Total Press of 2000 Murders Among Us Comp 7" - Combined Effort/Vermiform - 1st Press - Glued Sleeve, silver labels (purple drawn pic of dog) Murders Among Us Comp 7" - Combined Effort - 2ndPress - Fold-out poster sleeve, white labels (b/w photo of dog) Collapse - s/t 7" - HLH - Post Life's Blood band with John Kirksciun on drums, Sean who sang for LB at the end (New Breed tape comp), and Sergio Vega (Quicksand) on bass. Notes: 1) Unsure of the total number pressed on Combined Effort. Silver labels should be 1st press, red labels the second. Some of the red label records have the combined effort address crossed out (after they folded) or with stickers for the NY Vermiform address. The sleeves on the 2nd press appear slightly shinier. 2) A total of 4,166 were pressed on Vermiform from 4 individual pressings. Not sure how they numbers break down for each press. However, the earlier pressings should have the original NY Vermiform address. The later pressings will have a new Richmond, VA address sticker. Some may not have a Life's blood booklet. Vermiform had new stampers made for what i imagine is the last of the 4 pressings ( in 1996 - see new test press). These records have a printed inner sleeve and new black labels. The earlier Vermiform pressings used the same stampers as the Combined Effort presses. Not sure if they ran a new set of tests before the vermiform pressings. 3) A total 2000 were pressed of the Life's Blood/Sticks and Stones split 7". Some records have reversed and non-reversed labels. My normal labels version had the sleeve colored red; however, i have seen version that are not colored. Not sure how the numbers break down for different versions or if they are different presses. 4) A total of about about 2,500 Murders Among Us comp 7" were pressed. Not sure how the numbers break down between the pressings. The earlier combined effort/ Vermiform press is a glued sleeve, while the later Vermiform press has a fold out poster sleeve. Both presses have the same matrix, but different labels. The earlier press has silver labels with purple ink, and a drawn picture of a bulldog on the B-side. The later press has white labels with black ink and a b/w photo of a dog on the B side 5) Life's Blood were also on the "Where the Wild Things Are" comp 12" on Blackout Records. The 1st Press came on gold (1000) and black/gold (1000). The 2nd Press had 2000 on Black and 500 on red. This record was recently repressed by Link records with a different cover. A limited number of these were pressed on blue wax. Life's Blood were also on the New Breed tape comp (1000 made) with Sean, not Jason O'Toole singing. They also had a demo tape, which i think used the Don Fury Feb. 3rd 1988 Sessions (could easily be wrong). Supposedly, sometime "soon" Prank Records is issuing a 2x12" discography, which should be more complete than the Vermiform CD (2,166 were pressed of that in 1996). It should have all the material listed above plus, the Don Fury 88 sessions, the entire live set recorded for the new breed comp and the lives sets from WNYU and WFMU (some of which was used on the Sticks and Stones split 7").
  16. hhmm... still no one? It is awesome, trust me. That says something, as i am very trustworthy person. maybe not spongeworthy, but certainly trustworthy. like a boyscout. not like a scoutmaster. trust me. since i am here.... i saw lots of canvasbacks, buffleheads, and ruddy ducks, plus some hooded merganser, redhead ducks, scaup, mallard and tundra swans out in the Baythese past few days. Not too bad. If you feeling fish i also saw green goby, naked goby, mummichog, threespine stickleback, sheepshead minnow, hogchoker, silverside, skilletfish, white perch and striped killifish.
  17. he designs something based on the cover art. You can describe what you want and he'll do his best. Mine turned out awesome. He's flexible and very capable (thats what she said...). As mentioned above he can design something based on what you want or use something you did. For mine, I scanned in the cd cover and tray back of HWM's Forever and Counting. I then made a transparent png image of the HWM logo in photoshop and emailed them all to him. He arranged it all in the layout, burned the screen and inked the sleeve. He was easy to work with and there was excellent communication about fine tuning the final layout. Aces all around.
  18. Just got my HWM sleeve today! Sweet indeed. I am already thinking about get another done. Highly recommended.

  21. yup. indeed. oh, i also saw plenty of horses and sika deer. The sikas are invasive - the same goes for the horses in fact and I suppose the same might be said for the people too. here is a crucial collection. Missing is the "A Gig Too Far 7"" with the blue cover, which i picked up recently and the "Straight and Loud" 7" on yellow, which i am still looking for. Listen to them and listen to crucial death and then know awesome.
  22. worked an easy-peasy deal with this guy. word.
  23. I am curious about The Casualties 1st 7" - 40 oz. Casualty with the hand colored cover. I picked this up when it came out in the early 90's and cant remember the info - even if i knew it in the first place. I have seen a few copies of this record, but only with the normal sleeve. Any one know the info? Here a photo.
  24. bought something from this guy. excellent seller. thanks again!
  25. so now takers yet? no worries, i have nothing but time... Apropos of nothing, i just got back from Assateague and i saw black duck, mallard, pintail, blue-winged teal, brant, canada goose, northern flicker, butterbutt, swamp sparrow, northern harrier, and woodcock. that's right i said woodcock.
