You are correct. Claims are going to be automatically denied by the paypal system because of the time limit. I made a post a few pages back where I described the process I used for calling and getting my full refund and I would suggest trying that next. Good luck!

Hoping this has an insert of some sort, the booklet for the CD version was absolutely stellar.

Got offered a FULL refund by paypal, here is how I did it: 1. Called 888-221-1161 2. Got to a live person by saying "customer service" a bunch of times 3. First guy sucked, said there was nothing I could do, I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me that would be a waste of my time, I said "I would love to waste my time". 4. Explained the situation to the supervisor (Dennis I think?) and he apologized and told me that I'll have my refund in about 24 hours. GET TO IT MY BROTHERS! EDIT - The supervisor noted that I had "been with paypal for some time" so that may explain why some people are getting full refunds and others partial. Kinda sucks if that's the case, but either way everyone should call. This was my second time calling so be persistent if you get nothing the first time.

Like four or five years ago I won an American Nothing (name the band used b/t American Nightmare and GUTG) shirt for like $15. I figured it was almost too good to be true, but the dude sent an invoice and I paid him. Never heard from him again, I didn't file a claim in time, shit sucks. A few months later his username was "No longer active" on ebay so I imagine he pulled the same thing on multiple occasions. Not a lot you can do in these cases, one of many reasons I try to buy and sell on VC now instead, friendlier people and you will almost never get screwed.

I want to say I have a Damnit promo CD somewhere that's never even been played. I never thought it was worth anything so I'm not quite sure where it would be.

I was first in line at my local store and while they didn't have everything I would have wanted, I was happy to drop nearly a bill there and give them the support. Straylight Run Anberlin (both of 'em!) Called paypal and got almost no help, girl opened a dispute for me but said since it was so long ago there isn't much they can do. Thank God I paid with through paypal with my credit card so I'll wait and see what happens over the next few days and then get started on it from that end.

If anyone wants to grab the special edition and doesn't want to pay ebay prices hit me up and I'll sell it for a very fair rate.

As someone in "The Industry" I personally think this would be bad style. Not that I would fault you, as I also have ways to reach these guys and have definitely considered it myself. The way I look at it though, this is a big record from a big label (talking about universal... not MTS) and enough people are on top of these issues that it is going to get resolved sooner or later. But this is definitely one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with buying records, I honestly have felt less ripped off when people/distros have just taken my money and disappeared.

I've made tons of orders since 2004 and I have never had a single problem. Had to return a shirt once (it had a bad screen) and it was the most painless process I could think of. Even now I'll still usually pay the few extra bucks to keep from dealing with SRC.
