  1. The fact that you had your product in hand when orders launched already puts you light years ahead of some of the places I've been ordering from recently.
  2. Naw I'm with you, Comfort of Home is definitely the better record in my opinion. 1985 has a few crucial jams on it but other than that I rarely find myself jamming it.
  3. Eh, the records themselves would probably cost $25 each for a 2x12" like that so the price isn't actually that bad. Add in a shirt that would cost $20 in a webstore (that I would never otherwise buy/wear.... but still) and this comes up just about right.
  4. i would keep it personally but even if you didnt like the record, why would you miss out on an opportunity to buy a record that is marked down 100 dollars? maybe its just me. Probably because I had plenty of chances to buy this record for $8 back when it was in print.
  5. Haha I have that somewhere, the best part is that it says "kid tested, satan approved" on it. Sooo cheesy.
  6. Heading to the post office again on Friday so hit me up soon if you see something you like!
  7. Really? The release date was pretty clear when the pre-order went up. I'm not doubting it, it just seems foolish to pay for something and then request a refund when the release date is a lot closer. No, I completely agree with you. Fat has always been very transparent about things and it's one of the many reasons they are so loved. People do dumb things everyday though... and I suspect that many of them are NOFX fans (don't take offense, because anyone who has been to a NOFX show in the past decade knows the people I am referring to).
  8. that's what they consider them, but they are basically tests they ordered in a batch hoping everything would be ok with the pressing. which in slight cases is not (ex: iron age - way is narrow). mind you, sometimes i'm sure they are just a small batch of the regular pressing that was done in a rush. idreamofpunk, i can't answer that. i'm sure some tour presses are just a small pressing of the larger quantity that's a rush job, but i know there's a good chunk that gets pressed as actual large quantity (50+) test copies. you just pray nothing is substantially wrong with them. but in few cases there is. (read above) i know some of my tour/release presses are either no label, or test press label, but in most cases just blank label. adam, sometimes labels need records for release parties or tours and the manufacturer can't get the records to them in time because of the length of time it takes to press the tests and then wait for shipping/arrival and then feedback, so labels just cross their fingers and hope for the best with tests since they can order them in small quantity right off the bat, rather than a regular pressing that has a minimum order. at least just enough to hold them over till regular pressing has been done and arrives for sale. I remember those Iron Age records, at least the cover looked cool as fuck. Yeah those were like a SXSW 2008 exclusive, limited to 100. Does that sound right?
  9. I can only imagine that with the high price tag and long (by fat standards) wait that more than a few people requested refunds.
  10. I bought a clear version off craiglist for $20 about a year ago. That $99 price is ridiculous, I'm surprised Fuck City hasn't repressed it. Damn, I have no idea who has the rights to it but I'll mention this to them. I doubt they realize how crazy the price has gotten!
  11. not necessarily. labels do this all the time for bands that tour when they are running on a deadline for a release that isn't out yet. they'll just produce 25, 50 to 100 tests for a tour with some makeshift silkscreened covers or what not. it happens frequently. This seems to be especially common in hardcore, over the years I've probably owned at least ten records like this. The ones I've had have usually been referred to as a "tour press" or "pre-release".
  12. I'm personally not trying to crucify him, but this situation could have happened to any one of us and I for one would not ever like to deal with this individual. Selling on ebay is risky enough without dealing with people who have been known to file (what I consider) to be an illegitimate paypal claim. I've built my block list (both for ebay and outside of it) off of what people say in the bad sellers/traders thread because 99% of VC posters are good honest, people and I trust their judgement.
  13. We should probably start a separate thread for people to just post their blocked-bidders list. Mine's gotten pretty substantial. Do it! That's a great idea!
  14. His eBay handle is shelikesthequiet. Thank you! For anyone else who wants to do this here is a direct link to the "block bidders" form: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin
  15. Fuck that dude. Please post his ebay username so the rest of us can add him to our "blocked" list. Good luck man, I hope ebay/paypal doesn't end up screwing you on this.
  16. Updated! We're getting our press photo taken tonight, and because everyone loves dorky photos I will post it in this thread as soon as it'd edited and ready.
  17. I have no idea, but if you want to sell it or trade me for it, hit da pm button.
  18. How about All Star on a star shaped picture disc?
  19. Definitely going to grab this once it comes out. I have pretty high standards when it comes to live DVD's, but the preview clips for this one are great.
  20. Wait really? I kinda don't think so. This thing runs on the super shitty proboards format which requires almost ZERO upkeep, so other than deleting threads/posters you don't like there is really nothing to it. Even if you sank the tiniest bit of effort into a nice pbpbb setup I still wouldn't buy that arguement. Basically you bought a name with a built-in user base, so don't act like there is any significant work or expense going into this.
  21. Yea, Ive talked to Universal about it. Just waiting to hear back now. I expect it to get approved considering Island already approved ACbtLD to get pressed. Please do the original CD cover art for this if it does happen. The LP cover is kind of a letdown compared to how awesome the CD package is (especially the digipack version).
