i read the Billy and SP wiki's last night.  i have a couple ideas on what this might be.

 

i just think it's very far fetched to think that you'll get to licence whatever it is.  maybe for the better, but your sneak peak makes me think it is only a couple songs, so a 7"?  it's not like 7 inches blow off the shelf so that might make a licence easier.

 

in the end, best of luck.  i very much love all things billy and will be first in line if you ever get to make this project happen.

I'd hope that's some subtle sarcasm at work, seeing as 90% of the board appears to have documentation of their collection in some form or another.  Like bermuda said, it's actually quite easy (and convenient) to manage them as soon as you order or receive new items.  If that's too much of a hassle for you personally, that's perfectly fine.  But considering everyone on VC, I think it's "kind of crazy" to not have a catalog.

 

no, i really don't have a list.  it's actually a minor problem.  i can't remember which Live at third man records that I have, it's bad because Criminal usually has the Live at Third Man cheaper than Third Man.  

I wouldn't call it crazy. It's so convenient to have documentation of exactly what you have. And if you add to it as you get in new stuff, it's not a pain/doesn't take much time to update and keep up with.

 

well then, consider me lazy.

i don't have a list of the vinyl or cds that i own.  never been that kind of crazy.

How are you guys going about doing this?  Just typing in albums you think came out at the time in google or actually looking at all of your stuff physically one by one?

 

i used wiki.  i just searched albums released in 1997.  the wiki page seemed pretty right.

my house got broken into by a druggie once. they took two digital cameras, a bowl, and a nintendo wii with xbox controllers. unplugged stuff from the tv, but didn't even come close to the turntable or my records.

 

yeah, when my place was broken into they ended up taking a bunch of useless electronics.  they pulled one of my screen print poster boxes out from under my bed.  i don't know what it's worth these days but there was a White Stripes Japan tour poster sitting right on top, at the time i was worth about 200 bucks.

this is the dumbest thing i've seen in a long time.

The first 4 live shows that Zwan put on were incredible.  I was at the first two.  Over half that stuff never got released.  Probably their best work, in my opinion.

 

i think i went to one of those shows and yeah most of the stuff played didn't show up on the Zwan album.  i was living in LA at the time and we drove south for like 40 minutes.  the venue was weird, my wife an i sat at a table for four for the show.  another couple sat at the table with us.  i think i have a Zwan shirt in the attic somewhere, there is an odd inside the shirt print on it.

that kid in the video really has a problem reading.

feels like the charade is falling apart.
