  1. If you're able to make the Monday one I'd be down for a trade.
  2. Got my tickets in the mail for the 23rd show in Toronto. Any other VCers going to that show? Or want to? It's the lame Monday one. I've got two tickets cus they made me choose 2 when I preordered. And nobody I know is able to come to Toronto with me that night, except for one friend who doesn't really like Refused all that much.
  3. Whatever you do don't dump a beverage on her head. I got stabbed with a fork for that!
  4. You get them sewn or just let them grow in? Can't tell from the pics I've seen.
  5. Best of luck kicking your habits man. Changing a lifestyle is fuckin hard, I've been undergoing a bit of a transformation myself this year. I've also jumped from one addiction to another over the years. It's not always drugs or alcohol. So for me it's all about just finding a healthier addiction when I feel like the current one is becoming detrimental to my life. Keeping busy helps a LOT, I'm sure staying home with your kids all day makes things hard for you. I work approx 9-5 but used to spend my evenings at home by myself getting wasted. Now I'm still smoking a ton of weed every day but getting out almost every night. Hell, last month I didn't even have time to do dishes or laundry for about 3 weeks. Well I had time but I was too exhausted lol. They say addiction is in the blood, and it is indeed in mine if this is true, both my grandfathers died of alcohol-related health issues and my cousin is an oxy head. Well I say fuck that, mind over matter, our destinies aren't predetermined. If you have the will, you can accomplish anything. Anyways I rambled more than I meant to. Good luck, keep busy, and stay posi.
  6. Wow that's crazy. How could it not stink? After 18 months, which is a year and a fucking half, you would think that thing would be decomposed for sure. Anyone with anatomy knowledge care to shed some light on this?
  7. Have you checked out septum spikes before? Onetribe carries them in stone and wood. Blacklungs... looks like you're off to a good start, but you have some stiff competition! Lots of sites out there with comparable prices and bigger selection. Body Art Forms and Onetribe to name two.
  8. Me on the right. With my friend Megan at a show a few weeks back.
  9. The DeadFormat tradelist is the easiest to use one I have found. Just type in your shit and call it done! I cataloged about 30 records on Discogs and got fed up. I might consider switching if I can figure out an easy way to just dump my list in.
  10. Incredibly.... who the fuck likes those terrible splatter designs? Even when good colours are chosen they usually suck balls. Ordered the clear.
  11. Surprised nobody said porn yet. I guess people don't really collect it now that we have the internet lol. I don't know if I'd say I'm a book collector, but I certainly have a fuckload of them. Yep, a fuckload.
  12. Reviving thread because it's awesome and I missed it. -fucking heat wave, no AC at home +played the best baseball game of my life +saw an old bud last night, went swimming -didn't get home till 3am -got up at 6 +got an ice capp, mmmmm +work has AC!! +feel surprisingly good for getting wasted last night and only sleeping 3 hours
  13. I haven't ordered from SRC (excluding the Dine Alone store) in well over a year. My first order with them in late 2010 went great. Got the records within a week, shipped via Canada Post. The next three orders I placed with them all included items that were listed as in stock but were not actually in stock. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they would fulfill it and follow through. After a month of no word I sent them a message and was promptly responded to saying that the item is not in stock, and they offered to let me choose another record of similar value. No problem, I liked the way they handled that. Except the next two orders went the same way, with longer and longer wait times between emails. SO now I don't use them. As someone else said, way too many other great distros that don't lie about their stock and ship items immediately. On top of that, to add insult to injury, they don't even ship via Canada Post anymore, at least when I order Dine Alone stuff... which is odd considering both Dine Alone and SRC are based in Ontario...
  14. Pre-ordered this off Amazon a while back and just got an email saying that they are still trying to fulfill it. Just an FYI to anyone else who was considering Amazon for the 2x45rpm version.
  15. You can get reconstructive surgery where they basically cut off the big hanging pieces of flesh and sew the remaining tissue back up into a normal looking lobe. Usually a thinner lobe then the person started out with. That's also true, the condition is called a "blow out." Basically the ear can't take the tension that's being placed upon it from the inserted jewelery, and tries to flip inside out to release the tension.
  16. I have my lobes stretched to 7/8". Got them pierced about 8 years ago and it took my 3 years to get to 7/8. I took them out for 2 years because I got a little annoyed at taking care of them. The holes closed back up to approximately 1/2". I started wearing plugs again last year because I missed them, I feel like they complete me. I have a number of different sets of plugs at 7/8 and I swap them like clothes or shoes to match the occasion. I almost exclusively wear stone and wooden jewelery, which helps with the ear cheese problem mentioned above (SHOWERING also helps... lol). I don't know how plugs got popular with the scene, but I admit that's how I was first exposed to plugs and body modification. Although, it's not what kept me going. Most people I know stopped at 0 gauge or 1/2", I only personally know a handful of people that have gone to a similar size as myself. I became a regular on Iam.bmezine and met others with the same interest. I think it's more about the challenge and reward for me, of obtaining this size. Status as someone else said. A bit of a fashion statement as well I guess... I'm pretty vain lol. I got pierced when I was in college for programming, now I work in an office as a business analyst for a major defense contractor. In college I wasn't sure what sort of reactions I would face in the professional world, and I've been shocked again and again by how open everybody is here. Maybe it's because there are so many ex-military tattooed guys. I also have my tragi stretched. Got them punched at 8 gauge and brought them up to 2g over 2 years. I love these and will never get rid of them even though it means I can't wear ear plugs or in-ear headphones. So in summary, I think I've answered all the questions from the op... -ear cheese is a non-issue if you are clean -I find plugs asthetically pleasing -I kind of enjoy the attention, it's a great conversation starter - people always ask about my ears; but really I don't give a fuck what people think, whether they like them or not, I just love the way they look on me. -No idea why it got popular in the scene And finally.... a pic I just took of my ears while sitting in my cube at the office. Wearing olive wood plugs in the lobe and rutilated quartz in the tragus.
  17. Yeah I think I'd agree. Will also say that this repress is one of the best sounding records I own.
  18. yes. yes. yes. The end part, where the Pixies come on as the towers drop? That's pretty epic too.
