Picked one up at my local store yesterday.  From a pure aesthetic standpoint, this is the best reissue of this album so far.  The vinyl finally matches the artwork.  Looks awesome!  Let's face it - it's the (real) Misfits, so the sound quality is going to be bad no matter what.

I find it kind of funny that you left me negative feedback based on the fact that you assumed I had "disliked" your post.  Well, it wasn't me.  Shockingly, someone else disliked it.  So, you better hurry and find out who it was who actually gave you the negative, so you can leave them negative feedback, too!

Fair enough.  But that was the first offer I've turned down, as it was the first "low-ball" offer I received.  I would take $24 ppd for that record.  Let me know if you're interested.  Thanks.

They played this well, easily tricking impatient folks like myself into buying multiple copies. Rise Records release info comes out first. Not terribly exciting, but I grab one to be safe. Then I find the vague "colored vinyl" option on Interpunk. I figure I better grab one of those, too - just to be safe. Then Chunksaah finally announces the pressing info and I realize I haven't even ordered one of the coolest ones yet, so I order one from them. And now, since I'll already have 3 of the 4 original variants, I'll have to try to get a copy of the tour version, as well.
And yes, I obviously have issues. That's why I'm on VC.

These colors are perfect, I just love how they look.

Is keeping a record sealed worth it?  Absolutely.  I would never, under any circumstances, recommend opening your records.  That is just asking for trouble.  The next thing you know you'll find yourself thinking about actually playing the record, which we all know will inevitably damage said record.  No need to start down that path: keep them sealed!

If you don't understand his post, you obviously don't have the "collector" gene.  And that's okay.  I have lots of friends who don't get why I feel the need to collect certain things.  My limited experience in the VC has given me the impression that a high percentage of posters here share this trait.  But there are also plenty, such as yourself, who do not.
 
Look, if anyone here is willing to be honest with themselves, they'll admit there's a lot more that goes into buying records than just the listening experience.  Spinning records is the least convenient way to listen to music (well, unless someone is still messing with an old reel-to-reel tape player).  Folks buying records in the digital age are buying for lots of different reasons: a need for ritual, a need to collect (which can border on OCD), superiority complexes (you should hear my $800 cartridge...), etc.  I started collecting before I even had a turntable because I liked the larger format (for the art work) and liked that it was kind of a "niche" product.  I framed and hung several of my favorite albums and loved being able to enjoy them as art.  Then I discovered colored vinyl, crazy splatter vinyl, etc and I thought (and still think) that this really added to the uniqueness of the medium.  Add in the limited quantities of most releases and the collector in me is a junkie for this stuff.  I do enjoy sitting down and spinning a record but, if I'm being honest, the collecting part is probably more rewarding for me.  So yeah, I could see myself listening to Bouncing Souls "Comet" on my iPod while admiring my new tri-color variant.  But I'll admit I've got issues...
