  1. Thomas, so sorry to hear about your Grandfather. Sucks hard when that happens...my grandma fell hard to pancreatic cancer, and I wasn't even there when she died. sucks. -was going to go to a special 35mm screening of UHF w/ Weird Al live on sat. night, but I don't think I can get off of work for it. so not only will I not get to go, I'll be out $15. -my best friends' parents are coming in tonight but I may not get to see them b/c i'm working for the next 2 days. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -fuck my love life.
  2. I saw that tour but I missed something corporate. It's funny you bring that up, eric, because I remember talking to a dude in a thrice shirt at that show for a long time. -saw SC @ 2002 warped tour, they killed it.
  3. Sage Francis- Li(f)e Lawrence Arms-Buttsweat and Tears 7"
  4. -Monday. +Coffee +Off tomorrow -/+ shit kind of hit the fan w/ the girl i'm seeing, but I'm honestly cool w/it and we're still hanging out. so it's all good. +copped the new Sage Francis LP along w/ some other stuff last night. -DIO.
  5. I got thru about 30 seconds of the opening track.....I couldn't deal with it, and had to turn it off. i'm gonna try to listen to the whole thing totally objectively later tnight, but yea, i'm kind of feeling this sentiment.
  6. +off tomorrow -broke. -can't seem to shake this shite mood.
  7. I've listened to this twice since yesterday, this is for sure Sage's best work. His sound has been fully realized w/ this release, IMO. probably in my top 3 for 2010 so far.
  8. dude, marty, was it the chick who said that one of your bad traits was that you listened to Slayer? Alan, that's EXACTLY who it was......UGH.
  9. I'm on track 2, and I'm REALLY feelin' this record so far...
  10. -ran into my ex girlfriend the other night and it was incredibly awkward. +she saw me w/ my new ladyfriend..who's way cooler. -scared that i'm gonna squander my chances w/ new awesome lady friend by getting to into it too early. (what I always do) +guess this is not that bad of a problem to have.
  11. jesus, mike, I knew you for over a year before I knew about your septum piercing.you keep that shit under wraps kid.
  12. not only that, but supposedly Jack Grisham from TSOL did a song w/ the kottonmouth kings as well.
  13. crutchfield is good, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-g7zmv8nqIl2/ I haven't ordered from them though but they've been a reputable home/car audio dealer for years-heard nothing but good things about their customer service.
  14. Scott, I didn't notice the pixilation in the strummer lp's till you pointed it out-it is kind of a letdown but i'm still pretty stoked on having these!
  15. Eric B & Rakim were innovators for sure. But IMO, G-A-N-G were it, they built upon what Eric B/Rakim did added more depth.
  16. I know, dude, I didn't know until very recently there was tension...sucks because they were the best MC/DJ duo to ever take the stage.
  17. This is sad. thanks for posting this, tributex....I was hoping there was some Gangstarr/Guru love on this board. As far as him being racist, oakland, I know he got overtly political in his rhymes to some extent, but I never got the vibe that he straight up hated anyone. If you fancy yourself a hip hop fan at all, you're failing if you don't at the very least own Daily Operation. getting ready to do a tribute post on my hip hop blog in a few...
  18. nope, came out today. but $7.98 was a bit too much for me. damn, I probably would've coughed it up....
  19. Sick of It All 7" Bouncing Souls 7" also, there was supposed to be a special Beatles' "paperback writer b/w "rain" RSD edition 7 inch too but I didn't see it. anyone see it/cop it? EDIT: according to the RSD site, it's not coming out until 5/18.
  20. I actually wasn't all that impressed w/ the hold steady vinyl..thought the packaging would be a lot cooler than it was, looks like they just kind of threw it together.
  21. Joe Strummer & Mescaleroes-Streetcore Js/Mescaleroes-Global a go-go Modest Mouse-Moon and Antarctica HWM live 7 inch Fucked Up - Waterloo (daytrotter sessions) 7 inch Mike D (controlthebleeding) got the Hold Steady, I could've probably gotten one too but I really wanted the Joe Strummer represses. was a crazy mobscene at Waterloo, but everyone was generally pretty cool, I got the last HWM 7 inch and the last Fucked Up "Waterloo" daytrotter 7 inch, so I guess I got kind of lucky...still kind of kicking myself for not getting the Sick Of It All double 7 inch though.
  22. Considering dude was a drug addict from his early teens into his 20's-I highly doubt he was in to straight edge hardcore bands, but you never know. I've had "midnight at the movies" in my ipod for months and haven't really been able to get into it. will have to give it another listen.
  23. Chevy Chase popping up randomly was gold. Also, Rob Courdry stole the show!
  24. spaghetti oh's and leftover frozen pizza will be my lunch here in about 45 minutes.
