  1. The pre-order will be up today at 3:00 PM Eastern! I will have both versions of the new record, an old 7", a couple old cds, and a bunch of shirts (mostly in smaller sizes)! Hopefully everything is set up properly - if you have any problems or questions just let me know. Thanks all
  2. I just wanted to give an update, the pre-order will launch on this Sunday - November 30. Time to-be-announced. I will put a post up here when I know it is a go! I am just waiting to hear back from the band about some other merch so I can also offer some shirts, older cds, 7 inches, and packages!
  3. As long as they are delivered on time, they WILL be with the band at the shows! (Well unless they sell out on the pre-order or something...) I just listened to the test pressing this afternoon and it sounded really great. Those fine folks in the Czech really know what they are doing!
  4. maybe they'll come out there in the future! i really don't know what their future tour plans are as of now. I agree - that split is flat out amazing. 1. It's a New recording 2. Some different songs 3. A new song! - When was the last time you got a new record or even recording from these guys? 4. More goofy Weston banter 5. You <3 Vinyl (I assume since you are on this msg board) 6. The art is pretty! 7. This pressing is only 500 copies if you're in the collecting aspect. 8. Unlike that Doc Hopper split, this comes on color! Umm...that's about all I got right now. Has that done anything for you?
  5. Hey all! I just wanted to let you all know about some Weston news. For the first time in almost a decade they have a new record coming out. It is scheduled for release in mid December along with a string of shows that will go from Philadelphia to New York to Hoboken to Bordentown (with Grant Hart of Husker Du). "This is my Voice and This is my Heart - Live at Maxwell's" will have 500 copies pressed - 400 on solid pink and 100 on a pink/black mix that will include a silk screened cover! The live album will feature 14 songs - consisting of tracks from "A Real Life Story of Teenage Rebellion" and "Got Beat Up". The only exception is one brand new song - "Pucker Up Baby". Each copy will include a digital download of an expanded version that includes 18 songs and some extra shenanigans and banter. Copies will be available in the near future through Vinyl Collective! If everything goes to plan, a pre-order will be launched on my website this Friday at www.blackshirtmusic.com. This is my new record label's first release and I'm really excited. Weston was one of the first bands I ever fell in love with... For old fans, I think you'll really enjoy the album as it does a great job of capturing the feeling of a live Weston show. If you don't know them, these guys are contemporaries of bands like The Bouncing Souls and Lifetime and are part of that Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania scene which included the likes of Digger. Keep up on with the band and check some of their tunes at www.myspace.com/westonrockspa or add them on facebook! If anyone has any questions, just feel free to drop me a line. If you run a store or distro and are interested in carrying copies of the album or are doing any press work and want to review the album or preview the shows, pm me! Thanks so much!
  6. They had copies of the album in NYC. The setlist was extremely short compared to the last time I saw them...not sure if it was a venue or band decision. Ben was also incredibly more sober...not sure if thats a band or label decision. They sounded good as always and the addition of the brass sounded real nice. I was just kinda disappointed that they didn't keep playing until Ben started forgetting words...but maybe I was spoiled last time. Played most of the new album but didn't play "The War".
  7. I got one too but also am guilty of not getting to listen yet. Thanks for the hookup...though I totally nerded out and packed a couple mailers in my suitcase just in case. My friends laughed at first but they knew what was up once they walked out of shows with some vinyl.
  8. definitely, i think every 18 year old should be forced to watch that so they can better understand life and drop the naive outlook on life.
  9. wow...pretty good guestimates on my part if that's the case - i figured around 5000 total. the crusties were ridiculous. its just like they would lay around in that one block all day long then all of a sudden appear drunk asking for money at night. common grounds was awful. i was in there twice and it was never anywhere near what i would guess was capacity. as a venue though, i really liked it. that was my first fest and i gotta say - i'm absolutely in love with it. sure the band list didn't seem as good as last year but i realy had the time of my life. saw lots of great bands, met some awesome people, and just had a great time with my boys. its kind of a nice feeling to see the epitome of our scene in action.
  10. So how many people actually attend The Fest? Anyone know what the numbers really are? Just kinda curious how many make the trip...
  11. i got back last night and totally agree. i'm sure glad to be back in the northeast where its kinda cold and there are no palm trees! my body hates what i did to myself while there.
  12. small brown bike was everything i thought they'd be. and a new 7"!!!!! did not see that coming...they sold all 100 copies they had on hand last night. if anyone is in the holiday inn give a knock on 513 later on today and say hi. once i wake up i'll be up for having a beer with you.
  13. fantastic band and beautiful records. i can only hope they reunite one day since i never got to see them
  14. i'd love to meet some VC folk at the Fest...it's going to be my first Fest! super stoked also for seeing SBB and Samiam for the first time.
  15. Can someone hook me up with some info on shipping records? I'm curious on what the weight is on an LP in a standard mailer and 180g/gatefold setup in a mailer. Scale is here at work ...Records are at home. Maybe someone is possible to put those two together for me! Much thanks!
  16. I'm sure that other people have brought up this question, so I apologize in advance, but I'm looking to get some quotes on getting stuff pressed. I'm looking for places that do standard LPs, pic discs, and/or 180 gram. So far I have contacted Pirates Press, URP, and Rainbo Records (who only do black vinyl correct?). If anyone has input or recommendations, I'd be super appreciative. Thanks all!
  17. anyone have an extra ticket for Friday? if so hit me up! thanks!
  18. Hey everyone, I dropped the ball and missed out on tickets. I really need 2 for the show! Is there anyone out there with extra or a way to hook me up?!?! Hit me up if you can help! Thanks!
  19. I'm just resaying the same thing, but yeah they killed pretty hardcore. I saw Brian last weekend playing in New Brunswick. He was telling the story of how a friend asked him if he was nervous about Conan and he replied with something like "hell yea...I've never been on national tv...and Max Weinberg was four feet away from me" or something to that effect. They definitely looked like old pros on Lettermen. Hopefully that'll help launch them a little further.
  20. Having problems putting in the picture, but here is a shot of my developing collection...I haven't been keeping up as well as I should be but I still love it http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=26047355&albumID=572484&imageID=47034205
  21. I have to check my list to be sure, but the only thing I can think of is the "Dinosaur" split 7" with Strychnine and the Rat Traps. It's from FOE and there's 2 presses I believe. and...the Pixies tribute album!
  22. I am also looking for this! I've been working on a Weston collection for about 10 years. I only have a few holes left! One of my favorite bands since they were one of the first 2 "punk" bands I ever got into. Return to Mono...it is definitely different - but there is no such thing as bad Weston records.
  23. i've had trouble tracking any of his stuff down. the only things ive seen are insanely priced!
  24. i'm hopefully gonna hit up camdem shopping this weekend. anyone know of any random music landmarks to see while i'm here? got my pic in front of the 100 club where The Clash first played. i'm sure there is lots i don't know about. if you got suggestions - send them over!
