  1. A different issue came up when I tried using this. I am in Canada and sell on various sites and as 95% of my sales were to US buyers I just list in US $ and figure out US equivalant of the postage rates.  The issue is when you sign up to have the fees deducted it automatically changes your listing currency to that of the country you are from WITHOUT applying the current exchange rate and there is no option to switch back to say US$. So an item I may have listed for $50 in US$ now is listed as $50 but in Canadian $.  I can’t believe discogs could screw that up so badly, ideally they still give the option to list in a different currency but for pucks sake if they are forcing the currency change than they at least they should apply the exchange rate it to the current listings.

  2. Announcing: our 2018 Artist in Residence!

Greetings, VIPs! We are delighted to announce that Rob Crow will be releasing a plethora of new music as part of our 2018 Artist In Residence series. Rob Crow is perhaps the most absurdly diverse artist we have ever worked with (who else can pivot seamlessly from Pinback to Anal Trump?). This dude's musical output is parallel to none... And this is by far the most ambitious residency we've ever attempted.

    What’s included this year?
    • Over 300 minutes of music, created by Rob Crow & friends throughout 2018.
    • TEN limited edition vinyl records (nine 12"s, one 7") from ten distinct musical projects. Each release limited to 475 copies on colored vinyl,
    • Deluxe box set to house all this beautiful vinyl (numbered out of 475).
    • MP3 and WAV downloads of new albums sent to you on the 15th of each month.
    • A signed art print.
    • Various surprises from Rob, possibly including but certainly not limited to a karaoke DVD, cassettes, flexi-discs, zines, and other items.
    • The satisfaction of financially supporting an incredible artist and his family. DID WE MENTION ROB CROW HAS FIVE FRIGGIN KIDS?!
Throughout his 2018 residency, Rob Crow will be releasing new works from at least 10 distinct projects, including:

    Optiganally Yours
    Thingy
    Goblin Cock
    Byre
    Third Act Problems
    Other
    Remote Action Sequence Project
    Physics
    Anal Trump

...and an unreleased single from Pinback

PS: we're changing how we're doing some AiR stuff this year... Since, you know, there are gonna be TEN goddamn records.

DOWNLOADS: Digital downloads of new albums will be delivered via email on the 15th of each month, starting on March 15, and ending on November 15.

BOX SET SHIPPING: Vinyl Box Sets will be sent all in one package, with an expected ship date of November 15, 2018. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS FACT. You are signing up for a year-long musical experiment with Rob Crow, concluding with one big amazing box set of all the music he creates this year. You are buying into his process, and you will receive downloads each month as these albums are completed. But DO NOT expect to receive the vinyl box set before the expected November 15 ship date.

Thanks for supporting this amazing artist. We love you.

    - Karl & all at JNR
  3. So I saw this box set on ebay Tues night for sale with a Buy it Now price of $19.11 (Canadian $). Seller was importcds-ca with a kabillion feedback so bought it figuring it would be cancelled or the wrong record would be sent. It was also free shipping and to my shock arrived  today only 2 days later. Needless to say I'm going to be buying a lottery ticket this weekend!

Only thought I have... why was this delivered to a side door?

I was wondering that myself, the mailman had to open a gate to get in my backyard so maybe they were in a pissy mood at having to deliver all the records over the few years beforehand and tried to screw me over on one of them ... either way it was just really crazy to see that package sitting there and even crazier it survived!

I wish the buried treasure was some rare Beatles first pressing but seeing as I never order anything like that I was just happy it was still in 1 pc. Here are some pictures, have to give a big shout out to Bags Unlimited as it was their mailer that kept it preserved all that time. And as for the shitting box here is a pic with minimal shit. One of my fav jokes goes like this....Do you like cleaning shit out of a small box? Get a cat.

  7. Crazy thing happened today. 6 years ago we bought a house and there was a side door to the house into the laundry room that the previous owner had bolted shut after having their house broken into. We never bothered to use it and left the bolted locks on it, just put the cats shitting box in front of the door and never thought about it for the past 6 years. Fast forward to today, me and my daughter were outside playing in the first snowfall of the year and decided to bug the shit out of my wife who was cranky inside the house playing some nicky nicky nine doors on her. We started at the front door of course but then decided to open the screen door at the side of the house to give a knock to that bolted up side door with the cats shit box on the other side. I guess I had never opened that outside side door since we moved in 6 years ago as to my shock sitting there was a uline type record mailer with bugs and crud all over it. I checked the date stamped on it and it was friggin May if 2012. The damn thing had been there for almost 5 years!! What the hell! I was sure it would be a disaster after opening that mailer up as it had basically been outside here in Canada for all that time.  The sender did a great job packing it as the bloody thing was in great shape still!  I had no clue what was inside though but doubted it was something of any value and was probably something I had either purchased again or didn't give a crap about anymore. Well it was neither, it was a record still on my want list that I never managed to get around to purchasing and the only album by this band I was still missing on vinyl. It was the original pressing of the Photo Album by Death Cab for Cutie and I know it was the original as the repress came out like 2 years after that damn package was delivered to the side door!
