i'm willing to bet than all the alkaline stuff continues to go up a lot with the increasing popularity of vinyl collection and the exposure that the represses will get for the younger generation. -
isn't this like calling the cops on some high school kids drinking beer next door?

Heavens LP pressing #s breakdown
appendicitis replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I think Joe did a fine job with pressing this album, except how long it took to get it to us. DJ cover, black vinyl, etc puts the music first. I'm shocked that so many people had an adverse reaction to it. Mine plays great and is an old skool collectible. Plus it isn't something that becomes a color vinyl popularity contest. Heavens has been a great transition for Skiba after the last couple of A3 albums and this vinyl matches the music. Go ahead and smite me now. I just think people are too harsh on this one. -
these were in print forever always collecting dust like most traitors and smoking popes vinyl. amazing only 500 were pressed.

The Distillers Vinyl Costs A Bomb??
appendicitis replied to mynameistom's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
it was 1,000 for coral fang. sing sing just went oop a little over a year ago. the distillers are a solid band. not afraid to admit that. -
are people really that into this band?
-
Much in the same way that 'Crimson' comes off as the least inspired ALK3 record. This is spot on.
-
since when is progression the measure? i just think that the songwriting is of MUCH better quality on the first three records. in my book progressing as a band, and progression of a discography is much more the measure of a good band than maintaining the consitancy of a bands earlier recordings. pick any band with longevity then watch their later catalog mature. i've been a fan of Lucero for a long time and love all their music. i just think that their earlier music, though wonderful to listen to, started becoming a little repetitive. i haven't read outside reviews for a while, but I bet I'm not the only one with this opinion. RR&SB isn't a perfect album, just think they're going in an interesting direction and complementing Ben's voice with a little classic rock n' roll.
-
since when is consistency the measure of a good band. the first three albums were consistent, not great, but strong. yes, the 4th and 5th are pushing towards something a little different.
-
While I love all the albums mentioned, I strongly disagree with this. Don't forget Attic Tapes either, which is tremendous. Rebels different? Yes, but it pushes the band to a new level and musically is much more complex (good or bad). Good in my opinion for where these guys were prior. Rebels Rogues is an amazing album.

Alkaline Trio-related bands' vinyl
appendicitis replied to sgoodcore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
it's shocking that that 45 doesn't go for much more, someone who doesn't have this should BIN for less than $50... again, I'm pretty sure it was 500 copies. I never kept track of numbers pressed when these came out so my spreadsheet has many "holes" from these late 90's early '00's. i guess it wasn't so fashionable. -
Alkaline Trio-related bands' vinyl

it didn't come out in vinyl, but they have a LP on Johanns Face that came out in 1998. The 7"s that I have are as follows: Traitor/Scared of Chaka split on Johanns Face, Traitors/Ninjas Gang War split and the other one, don't have it in my "inventory" for some reason but it's a white cover with a cartoonish looking thing on it. Pretty sure these were all limited to 500 copies. Traitors, Live at Manhole is a limited LP out of 325. Manhole is a hardcore gay club on Halsted in Chicago. Bring me the head of Matt Skiba was a 45, post Matt to ride him regarding his success. A very good 45 by the way. Limited to 300 copies. They are a bunch of sick fucks. -
just read every 1000 hours. a worn needle will wear down your records. btw, i've never broke a needle.
