  1. If they don't make a standard 2 to 3 LP version of this without vinyl wasting etched sides and its not under $100, I may just need to let this one go. I like the album. But I LIKE it enough to pay no more than $45 for a 3xLP version. Fuckin' Tool... Who am I kidding? I'll probably fork over $150 if something even remotely playable gets released. I'm a garbage vinyl junkie.
  2. Killer find. Really crazy because I never knew about that page until right now when you posted this link and last night is the first night I discovered that multicam live video of the night 2 show from last August that it looks like Brian just posted last night seen in the previous post. That's really awesome news though. I hope that time table is achieved.
  3. Yeah... "last" ::winkwink:: I really do want to see them again but I honestly feel most excited about the prospect of a new LP and then secondly, the prospect of reissues and then third getting to see them live again. Seeing TAAS as much as I could before they split (not that I knew the split was coming) encapsulates some of my finest memories and most enjoyable experiences doing one of the main things I loved doing most which is going to shows for bands that are not mainstream in small ass clubs and just raging with them so I absolutely welcome more tours from them but I'm more in a lasting artifact in the form of physical releases mode right now as far as my enthusiasm for a band "returning" is concerned. Still hope to hell they tour again but my priority is their physical media.
  4. Official TAAS instagram just posted a live pic of Steve crowd surfing with a caption that includes a promise of "more news and music" incoming. Looks like they're building us up for something that's close on the horizon. Can't wait to find out.
  5. Brian Cook responded to a comment on instagram on his post about this release wherein the person pleaded for reissues of the three full length LP's and he claimed they were "supposedly in the works..." Reason enough to hope for me. https://www.instagram.com/p/CaAjVfOvkeV/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Comment with his response is from user debtriot.
  6. Yeah, I feel like unless there was something explicitly contractual or cost-prohibitive about including that track, it really should have been on here. Its just a collaboration. No one ever said you couldn't have guests on your retrospective compilation album. Maybe there will be another vinyl reissue of Like A Virgin. That would be awesome. Glad I got the Mind Over Matter press but more editions of that are more than welcome. But man, I've always said there is just something about their non-album b-sides and split contributions that just feels like they are hitting at a different but very welcome new angle. I don't know what it is but it is great to have a single release with a bunch of my favorite songs by them which were previously completely spread out on various 7" and 12" releases. Of course I have all of those releases but its cool to have them all in one set. "Payday Loans" is lyrically so fucking poignant and just absolutely assaults the listener with class-conscious vitriol. Actually "Hook On This" is the track that really drew me to the Like A Virgin split but I have since come to see "Payday Loans" as just as essential an offering. Like it was never bad at all. It was always killer but it finally reached a point where it was at least equally necessary to "Hook On This" for me. The ranting at the end of the former track is everything. It'll be nice to have newly mastered versions of the Russian Circles split tracks as well especially since that physical release was plagued by the toxic, vinyl-destroying PVC sleeves.
  7. Damn. There is literally an entire side dedicated to only two of their shortest (not to mention fucking BEST) songs. Spinning this set is gonna be all about the exercise... Maybe I'll just set my automatic table to repeat that side once or twice since the tracks are so short but so fucking good.
  8. Niiiiiiiiiiice... I do hope they mean "more news and music" specifically regarding TAAS. They have to mean that, right? Hoping for new music and reissues...
  9. Yeah, I'm hoping all three LP's get a reissue. Don't even really need to be remixed or remastered. There just needs to be more of them.
  10. As a huge fan who has an original copy of every one of the releases that helps make up the previously released portion of this (except the Coathangers split), I definitely need to get this. It will be nice to have the RC split tracks on a piece of vinyl that wasn't cursed with one of the those toxic PVC sleeves. No love for the colors though. I feel like 3000 of these are going to take a while to sell if I was hoping for new presses to be not as colorful to choose from. When I first saw the thread title I almost shit myself that this would be a new original LP from TAAS until I calmed down and read the entire thread title. This is still a nice surprise though.
  11. Oh, wow! I didn't realize. Not even really super familiar with that title. It sounds familiar but I'm not sure what the details are around it. Off to discogs I go.
  12. Nice. This has been out of print for a few years and fetching crazy money. Probably because its the only vinyl release that you can play "Yellow Ledbetter" from. EDIT: EEK! Didn't realize this was two 2xLP's separated to comprise the full 4xLP compilation at $35 a pop. Damn, that sucks.
  13. HA! I was writing my last post as this quote from you was being posted. Yeah, man. I didn't mean to rub salt in that wound. I'm sorry you slept on it. I'm really glad I got mine but I'm super sorry you have that regret.
  14. For the record (pun both intended and not intended), I find every copy of these LP's to be overpriced. Even the Tremulant and LS available in the States are still too expensive for the amount of content but are at least relatively affordable. I know I paid too much for my box but I actually got a really good deal on Towerrecords.com. They had it for significantly cheaper than most other outlets. Sold out super fast though. I got so lucky my order went through.
  15. Honestly, I really didn't understand that "better" was being used to describe the color variation. I literally thought there was something I was missing about them beyond anything visual.
  16. Maybe. I'm imagining green, brown, beige, red, orange and yellow. I'd like to see those get mixed in a way that didn't look like jungle juice and pizza vomit.
  17. Real TALK! And I'm not just saying that because I'm all about black vinyl across the board. Some colors admittedly look really pretty but I'll still get black if that's an option. But some colors look like a dumpster fire.
  18. I mean, I guess. I don't want to get too hung up on a single word "better" but that's really just "variation" to me. And other than the colored US variants of Landscape Tantrums and I think the colored variant of Tremulant, the prices direct from CH USA shop and the retail prices in the brick and mortar in the US are only a few dollars apart based on what I'm seeing.
  19. Yeah, it seems like the VMP Deloused had SERIOUS quality control issues. I don't think I've even listened all the way through to my CH box Deloused yet. Played side A for sure. That sounded great. The only one I've actually played from start to finish is FTM. It sounds fantastic.
  20. I'm aware of all that but what was actually "better" about them other than the prices?
  21. Thanks for that. It looks like the official store now has a "Global" and "US" mode and the shipping for the US mode is much better but still is about $10. Better than $23 or so to ship the LP alone was before that change. All the bundles have disappeared from the store however which sucks because with the better domestic shipping rate I would have jumped on the all format bundle with the signed print. Oh well. At least I can get the music on three formats still. Will probably skip the cassette though. Or will I regret it if I do... ugh.
  22. Yeah, that UK shipping price tag is really stunting my enthusiasm for blowing money on the pre-order. I'm considering getting the LP, CD, cassette and signed print just because I think it would be cool to have in every physical format available but again, that shipping. In other news, I listened to "Champion" once and definitely enjoyed the melody and overall mood. The groove is ok. Not bad at any rate. The production (listening through car stereo from a downloaded but "high quality" Spotify file) feels sort of stiff. I liked what I heard. Its definitely better than when "New Song" was the lead single for Heads Up. I was really scared the album was going to blow on the steam of that single. Turned out it was really good with some of the best tracks in their catalog. My only real negative critique of this new single is that it sounds a little rhythmically sterilized from the start through the middle but then finally starts to feel like its being organically played live for the instrumental outro. That ending really saved what was an otherwise very grid-alligned sounding production. But the melodies are good and I'm certain it will sound better and hopefully feel more natural through the home Hi-Fi speakers connected to my turntables.
