  1. The port on my dad's TV is loose but that's after a lot of plugging and unplugging. It still works, but that 90* plug would have prevented it. And for $3 it's a no-brainer.
  2. Unrelated, as it's a game show, but I sat in the audience of the Price Is Right last week, and I don't think all my preconceived notions of that show could've been any more wrong. At one point, this chick wins and gets up on stage, then they tell her to go back down, and pretend she hadn't won yet so they could film it again. I don't think I'd be able to do that shit. The stage is also crazy tiny - and there's like 20 people on it at all times. I was in the audience for a taping of the Price is Right back when Bob Barker was doing it. They didn't retape anything like that and I didn't get the idea that any of it was scripted in that way.
  3. I highly recommend a 90* adaptor. It might not make sense now but when you plug the cables in you'll see how plugging them straight in (the way the TV is designed) could potentially damage the HDMI port in the TV. http://www.meritline.com/90-degree-hdmi-male-to-female-adapter---p-33518.aspx
  4. If Lucky Louie would have lasted an extra season or two it would be on this list.
  5. Pawn Stars is ridiculously entertaining. GangLand rules.
  6. Hey Scott: what do this band and that sandwich have in common? They both turned to shit years ago! Saying the band turned to shit implies that at one point in their career they weren't shit. This band is more like a sandwich that was made entirely of shit complete with shit bread mayonaise made out of shit.
  7. I can't put into words the influence that Crimpshrine/Fifteen had on me as a kid, how they shaped my musical tastes and exposed me to new political thoughts and ideas. Fifteen played a huge role in my life, and I will always love them. But goddamnit if Jeff Ott ain't one crazy motherfucker and those solo songs don't bug the shit out of me.
  8. I did. I have no idea if it's really something I should be worried about but I am able to drill into my walls so I figured better safe than sorry.
  9. Funny, I just had a conversation this morning at work about how IM is old and nobody uses it anymore. I haven't logged in to AIM in at least two years. I don't know anyone who still uses IM. Someone IM'd me through Myspace the other day, so I guess that might count.
  10. Got both of my copies yesterday and they look sweet! (The second copy is for my friend)
  11. backed. times TEN. I got the peanut butter cakes. They were orgasmic.
  12. Is that split 7" he did with the Gaslight Anthem dude already out?
  13. I've seen a couple threads in the past about how awesome these things are. There's a Philly steak place by my work that gets these delivered in from Philadelphia so I was thinking of trying one but there's a bunch of different types. Are they all good or is there one that I absolutely need to try to get the experience?
  14. they are indeed. that price is so low it's almost insulting to me, and everyone wants stuff for free. i invested probably $3000 in new camera equipment and lighting in the last 6 months and i'm trying to recoup at least some of it. i mean sheesh, if there's 5 dudes in a band, that's $10 - $15 a person. they probably spend more than that each week on fast food. The problem with bands and photography is everybody has a friend/cousin/sister that has a "super sick camera" who will probably take their pictures for free.
  15. i just realized it was 27 bucks shipping, man They're heavy so that's actually really reasonable.
  16. I'd probably end up buying it if I could play a demo first but there isn't one. Annoying.
  17. Whatever dude. Tried to clarify it for you but if you it's really that big of a deal then don't worry about it.
  18. Yeah, it's a little weird cause you don't know the guy and you're raising money for a luxury, it's not something he needs. But it's just soemthing nice to do. He's been a valued member of the board for a long time and it's something he really wants to do but wouldn't have a chance to do otherwise. Wouldn't we all like to be flown across the country for free? Sure we would. But this is getting done for Juan and those that want to lend a helping hand are willing to donate a few bucks. Nobody is asking for a lot of money and Justin is helping the cause by selling some tests from his label. I used to frequent a photography forum and one time we all took donations to buy the moderator a brand new camera and lens (totalling over $2,000) because he would have never been able to afford anything like that and we all thought he deserved it. Just a few bucks from each person can really add up. Give if you want, if not, nobody will judge you. As for me, I'm buying my parents a dishwasher since their old one broke and they can't really afford to buy a new one right now. So if I have anything left over I'll put a few bucks down for the cause.
