1. Honestly, I thought it was pretty boring and so did the rest of the people I went with.
2. I never understood the thought process of "I'm doing graphic design/video editing/photo editing" so I need a Mac. PCs run all the same programs and, as already stated, for the price of a basic iMac you can build a super PC. Seriously, for the price of a 24" iMac you can build an insane PC with absolutely retarded specs that would make any Mac cry and then still have enough leftover to throw in a 24" monitor and it'd have Blu-Ray and HDMI and all sorts of other cool shit. I really just don't get the obsession with Macs. Yes, I owned one and they just aren't special.
3. One thing to remember about saving money is never buy prepared food. Yeah, you can sometimes find meals and frozen shit pretty cheap but if you compare it to how much you could save by preparing it yourself you realize you can be wasting a lot of money. You don't need to know how to cook to make good meals, just figure out things that go together. For example, last night I made burritos using crap I had in my pantry/freezer. 1lb ground beef 1 can Rotel diced tomatoes 1 can green chiles 1 can pinto beans Start with the beef, once it's browned I added everything else and let it simmer for about 30-45 minutes. I added some cayenne pepper and cumin for seasoning. All that stuff cost about $4 and it's a ton of food, but I was sharing it with other people and then there were leftovers this morning, just added eggs and we had breakfast. That coulda been a lot cheaper if I started with fresh tomato and chiles but it was 8PM on a Friday and wanted to use what I had in the pantry. That brings me to another point, buy smart. It's always best to use fresh fruits and vegetables but if you can't or won't eat them quick enough then you end up throwing the food away (and your money). So buy what you need. Also look for sales on canned vegetables because you might find yourself on a Friday night wanting to make something and you'll be out of whole tomatoes so that can of Rotel comes in handy and it never goes bad. But really one of the best things you can do to save money is to learn to cook, or at least figure out a few easy meals you can throw together in a pinch. You save money AND you know what the fuck it is you're eating.
4. Really bummed I missed out on that Todd's Dirt seasoning. That stuff is really good but it gets expensive and it can only be ordered online. The price through woot was awesome and I was gonna order 3 bottles but my computer froze and then it sold out. Lame!
5. Dude, you better get with the program... they're playing an all ages HOUSE SHOW right before that bar show. No joke.
6. Yeah, that was really cool, I've never seen anything like that before. But I don't store anything important enough to justify $200.
7. That always happens. I missed out too. One time I was able to add it to my cart but didn't confirm the purchase quick enough. Oh well.
8. That was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. That goddamn cat is hilarious.
9. It's been going on for a couple days now so I'm sure it's almost over.
10. I was a penguin last year. I might go as a giant ear of corn this year.
11. Just like the title says, I'm looking to get posters made but I want them on newsprint, like the kind that they make for the Fest. Anyone know who does that sorta thing? Yes, I've googled, but I'm looking for specific recommendations.
12. You're not missing out. Probably the most overrated video game of all time. So goddamn boring.
13. Hasn't the internet moved on to a new joke yet?
14. The markup on speakers is ridiculous. Look into building your own. Start with Fostex drivers and build a proven box design and for about $300 they'll sound better than anything worth 10x that price.
15. Love seeing the Patriots lose. Great game!
16. I have a couple Hot Water Music set lists from back in the day. I always intended to display them but never have.
17. Andrew Jackson Jihad deserves some love too Both band are awesome, though. Very few awesome things ever happen in AZ, but when they do... To be fair to Virgil he was merely copy and pasting the blurb that Sam from Traffic Street wrote about Rumspringer.
