  1. i find it pretty dumb that they're doing the "three itunes exclusive bonus tracks" thing and not including the songs on physical copies of the album.
  2. my blue copy arrived badly warped as well. it was well packaged, it was just inevitable considering how long it was in transit. hopefully some time stacked firmly between other records on the shelf will help.
  3. not even the SRC variant is sold out and its been a while now
  4. well they for sure said "remastered" so that's a pretty big thing for AFI's older albums because they kind of need it. also, they could (but probably won't) give them heavier gatefold jackets, make them 2xLPs, and 180g/45rpm or some shit.
  5. deluxe reissues of select AFI LPs as well. assuming Black Sails and Art of Drowning
  6. has black sails really been selling for ridiculous amounts? i thought so many were pressed that you could get a copy on ebay in any color for ~$12
  7. Airiel was the band before them. i hyped them a little bit earlier in this thread
  8. just got back from the chicago show. can't say i was all that blown away by their performance. a handful of people left before their set was over.
  9. i have a feeling that its a repress or maybe they originally pressed way more than they advertised?
  10. i hope the album drops before the tour. they are already mastering it
  11. managed to get the $99 three day pass for chicago
  12. mine came in the mail today. it sounds great. i never actually owned the CD and my digital copy never had that electronic outro. so, its my first time hearing that (its rules). i'd say "opaque slate blue" is a more accurate description of the color than turquoise, though. now i just have to hunt down Silent Treatment on green. i would patiently wait for the possibility of a repress, but i doubt it would be 2xLP like the OG.
  13. they are usually shipped out a week before the release date. sometimes you'll get it a few days early or a few days late. i guess it just depends on the postal service.
  14. i had no idea that was worth a lot. wasn't that on sargent house's webstore for the longest time? i sold my copy of brand new's devil & god (white with black marble. non-AFS pressing) for $120ppd. probably should have kept it. i also sold my copy of freelance whale's weathervanes for like $45ppd
  15. glad to hear that they had somewhat of a better impression on you. i'm sure that EP will grow on you, along with the previous four EPs if you give them a chance. i would avoid their first full length album, the battle of sealand, though. something about it just isn't right. i'll be sure to make a new topic or something whenever they reveal PO details
  16. well, i can't really change your opinion with words. but i can say that i discovered them in 2009 and i thought the same exact thing. they were decent, but they did kind of remind me of Ride, who i don't care for; however, they released an EP called Kid Games in 2012 that is really amazing and they changed things up. there are a lot more synths and female backup vocals. that EP allowed me to go back and appreciate the older songs, specifically ones like "Shirley Temple Tidal Wave." i have also found that they are a much better live band, more so than Whirr and Nothing. they've been around since the 90s, so they really know how to work their pedals, play super loud, and remain crystal clear. this is something Whirr and Nothing kind of fail it. they play loud, but its just loud and distorted to the point of not really being able to hear anything. when i saw Airiel, i felt like i was underwater. when i saw Whirr and Nothing, i felt like i was being punched in the face with heavy static noise. before anyone takes my post the wrong way, i appreciate all three bands equally. i just believe that Airiel is one of the best and most underrated gaze bands still around. Whirr and Nothing succeed at playing darker/slower gaze (which i prefer). but, when they attempt to play more upbeat songs, it does nothing for me. i turn to Airiel for the positive stuff. so, if you haven't checked out Kid Games, give it a listen (if you have, ignore all of this). i bought it used for like $8. they also have a new full length coming out this year, and i'm willing to bet it'll be their best work.
  17. i wish their midwest leg of the tour had whirr, but i'm seeing them in chicago with Airiel. (for those who don't know, Airiel is one of the best shoegaze bands ever.)
  18. i'm not really into that song. hopefully i will like the other ones
  19. i think they ship exclusively through FedEx (and some smaller orders eventually get forwarded to the local post offices). so, they are going by FedEx's international shipping costs. there's probably not much they can do about it.
  20. the clear blue is /300, if anyone was curious. they were selling CD copies of this at the deafheaven/marriages show so i've been listening to this album on a daily basis. needless to say, its amazing.
  21. i'm kind of surprised that SRC didn't manage to make this a 2xLP with all of the bonus tracks (three bsides, five acoustic songs)
  22. yeah, it was their first full length album to not receive an RIAA certification in the united states and then SBM didn't get one anywhere (i read that it sold ~36,000 copies in the US)
