Those of you who have seen this already: Reggie Watts is doing an opening act, right? How long after the "show start" time did conan actually start?

I'm really excited about this album, but haven't heard it yet. Anyone heard the 2x7"? Is it worth adding? I loved the song on the RSD 7". -
WWDC - New iPhone? Trackpad? iTunes.com?

For real? Man, if I can sell my 3gs for enough to fund a new one that would be amazing... -

That's when I saw them also, such a good show. I still wouldn't mind seeing them again though. -

Smashing Pumpkins - Reunion Summer Tour

I would totally go to this if I lived in one of those cities, but am not going to take the time/effort/money to travel to one. My friends that went to one of their residency shows in NC a few years ago said it was actually really great, I think it would be fun to see them again, even if it is just Billy Corgan. -

Leaving for tour: Recommend me books/movies/music

Exactly what I was thinking. I loved TGTTM, but never really cared for most of Awesome Show Great Job. If you enjoy any JJ Abrams stuff, or X-Files type shows, you should definitely check out Fringe. I haven't seen any of season 2 yet, but season one was pretty great. Really interesting stories, a continuous plot-line, and some decent effects for a TV show. And I left my book recommendations in the other thread...you should read that thread if you haven't already. -
The Sunset Limited - Cormac McCarthy Short dialogue between two people basically about good and evil. Really quick, and very interesting. Usually found in the drama/plays section of big book stores. The Giver - Lois Lowry If you haven't read this, do it. Easily one of my favorite books, despite it's targeted audience. I have read it a few times since I first did in middle school, and it only gets better. Also, updated my earlier post with descriptions and a correction...

WWDC - New iPhone? Trackpad? iTunes.com?
scotterson replied to kirbypuckett's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Definitely not worth it. I absolutely love my iphone, but at $5 a month I would happily take an incredible or something similar. I pay around $160 for my wife and I, unlimited messaging and data, but not minutes (though we never come close to going over) -
WWDC - New iPhone? Trackpad? iTunes.com?

I was curious as well, although I do think it looks fantastic. I would really like to see some drop tests done with it. -
WWDC - New iPhone? Trackpad? iTunes.com?

I can't imagine the 64gb flash card takes up much more room than the 32gb. My guess is there's enough new features here to warrant leaving the same capacities, so they are saving that upgrade for next year when there won't be as many new features. Plus I think flash storage is still pretty pricey at 64gb+, but I could be wrong of course. -
WWDC - New iPhone? Trackpad? iTunes.com?
scotterson replied to kirbypuckett's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Nope, same capacities. One positive thing about having to wait another year to upgrade! -
WWDC - New iPhone? Trackpad? iTunes.com?

I was super excited watching this last year because I knew I was getting the new iphone. This year, not so much. The new phone is incredible, but it's kind of making me bitter, because I probably won't be upgrading for at least another year. -
Boy Meets World, Fresh Prince, and Saved by the Bell are all tied for the awesomely cheesy category. Seinfeld is probably my top as well. Surprised to see so much Newsradio love, I always thought that show was pretty weak, but kinda funny, right up there with Just Shoot Me. Also surprised nobody has said anything about Friends. Say what you will, that show was often great.

Most of what I have has already been listed, but: A. Armada Dakota/Dakota (pre Russian Circles, less rock/metal/however you want to describe RC, really awesome) Ghastly City Sleep -
fantastic mr. fox - so awesome

My wife and I loved Darjeeling Limited, moreso than any of my friends which I thought was strange. It's really hard for me to pick a favorite, I guess I'll jump on the "can do no wrong" train. -
Out of the Silent Planet - C.S. Lewis A professor of linguistics is kidnapped by a physicist and taken to another planet as a sacrifice, but he escapes once there and learns to community with the inhabitants of the planet. First in a trilogy, this one is quick and easy, they get progressively longer and harder, but the entire trilogy is fantastic. Shades of Grey - Jasper Fforde In a futuristic world where everyone is partially colorblind, people are divided into social classes based on what colors they can see. It's a comedy (brit-humor), but incredibly interesting and well written. The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet - Reif Larson (this relies heavily on footnotes and diagrams, so I'm not sure how it would do on the kindle...but I imagine it wouldn't be an issue. It is a fantastic book.) A boy who obsessively draws maps sets out on a trip across the country, train hopping with hobos, etc. This book is super original, and the main character is awesome. All of the footnotes just add to the greatness.
