  1. I had a stack of 50 of those Avail/HWM/LF posters when that tour was around and mailed each and every one of them out with records... from what it sounds like, hopefully some of those people held on to them.
  2. No one will probably care but I liked this band back in the day so I'll point out (in case you do more edits) that you call Ordination of Aaron "Ordination of Eric" in the VF. Awesome.
  3. I'm not letting this thread die Chunksaah just put up pre-orders for the Off With Their Heads / The Measure [sA] split 7" at http://www.chunksaah.com/ Preorders get color and ship early.
  4. No Idea has the Rat Patrol 7" in stock on color.
  5. My wife is an attorney. She would say that while the first year is pretty much routine, you should not just go to ANY school for entertainment stuff. Go to a school where the profs are connected and respected in the biz. It used to be that the best of way guaranteeing this would be to go to school in LA or NYC but I think this is no longer the case. Even if you don't go work for the (capital I) Industry, you still want to be at a place where all the Big Boy Firms recruit.
  6. PS- From a label's standpoint, the same reasoning says that if it takes zero effort to put up a preorder for a record, you should do it... get the money in hand as soon as possible (to pay back those loans, reinvest in future projects or throw in the bank)!
  7. Finally a math question for me! You as the payee should always want to get your money as soon after the work you did for it as possible. Better to have your money in hand to do with as you please. If you get benefits (eg.- IRA contributions) from your employer you definitely want them to make contributions as frequently as possible (provided there are no additional fees associated with this) so that you can benefit from the additional accrual as well as more dollar cost averaging. On the other hand, if you're the employer you should pay out as infrequently as possible.
  8. I guess, I'm third... somehow I doubt ronnie will flake on this, so I need to hope for THREE+ copies!
  9. damn, I also am looking for this as well as the split with Engineers
  10. Anyone have some old issues taking up space? I subscribed to MRR from grade school to the end of undergrad and -- being a nerdy zine guy -- am now looking to fill holes in my collection... here are the recent (2002-2007) issues I am looking for: 226,228,237,245,246,255-279 Here are the other 23 issues I'm missing in case you can help: 1-5,7-14,16-18,38-41,43,87,93 I have a few doubles from #'s 44-191 if you want to trade. I'm mostly thinking some of you will just end up throwing away (those newer) back issues and so I'd cover postage+. Anyone else collect zines? Any MRR readers from the Tim Yo days? Anyone still pick up MRR?
  11. My wife is a Hills fan too. Drives me nuts. I can't be in the same room when it's on. Aesop Rock was the live @ MTV.com band last week. MtB is on the same level as Aesop Rock and Dan Deacon et al, that level being the "some Spin hard copy coverage for a short time". Who knows if it will become more, it did for Modest Mouse.
  12. I just got an CA$ 18.47 bill from that tollway in Ontario between Toronto & Hamilton. Sure that's only the cost of 'Hidden World' 2xLP, but this sucks because: 1) Google Maps put me on the tollway in the first place, despite the fact that there are no toll booths, 2) The NY DMV gave my registration info to a private Canadian entity, 3) I already filed my expenses for that trip and could have gotten that crap reimbursed, Life is pretty good when this is what makes me pissed.
  13. The dollar bins at Extreme Noise used to be my favorite stop when in the Twin Cities.
  14. The talk in the "Vinyl Count" thread on smaller cities lacking record stores got me thinking.... who here lives in a small/remote town w/o (m)any record stores? My wife and I live in the 1.7 square mile village of Dryden, NY, population 1832.
  15. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'll sell a brand new Pezcore CD for $8ppd (US)
  16. I would definitely clean it, don't want those grits making your needle dance!
  17. The whites avail for mailorder sold out in about an hour. I think the greens will do the same by the end of the week.
  18. First 1000 (of 3000) were (are?) on color. There was no separate color option. Did anyone else's copy have some dust on one of the records? One of my LPs had lots of super fine dust (might have been left over from the manufacturing process??).
  19. Meneguar LPs [uS & Europe versions] now available for preorder (ships end of the week) at http://www.troublemanunlimited.com/store/ and http://www.releasethebats.com/rtb.html Package sounds awesome. Price is eh. They will disappear quickly.
