Sometimes I wonder if our fav artist album has something to do with timing. I was late to the game and only got into TGA right before Handwritten was released. That could be why it is my favorite album, though right there with '59. Get Hurt is still a strain to listen to.

They're really going for the $$$$$ this time with all of the variants. So far, the only ones that seem to come with the random picture are the store exclusives.

Every time I listen I can't figure out what this sound really reminds me of. The dreaminess is what I need right now.

I don't know what I'm doing buying an album when I am purging over half of my collection... Anyway, this record is striking a chord with me. Very dreamy 70s AM radio sounds. He is evidently from Shiner and The Life and Times, who I am not familiar with at all. I liked the description in the YT comments, "Sounds like Roger Waters violently trying to escape a Tom Petty song." Violently is a bit much, but I can hear the comparison. So now, TS is releasing 4 digital versions of Midnights with different artwork and a different "behind the song" on each. This has just gone beyond stupid. I know I don't have to buy it, but this seems predatory on her obsessive fans who might actually buy all 4 of these digital "limited" versions. Sorry if you are one of them. This kind of stuff is just turning me off to even listening to the new album. Carry on.
