Thanks for everyone's input. I think if it was $20 I would buy it, but it seems to go for around $49 and up, so no.
Does anyone have an original pressing and can confirm it is a good quality pressing?
-
Hopefully there will be a good repress. It's fucking ridiculous that there isn't one already.
-
Anyone buy one of the colored bootlegs? I'm wondering what the sound quality is like. I know that once I buy one I will find out someone like MOV is doing a proper pressing.
EDIT: It is like I was psychic. Glad I waited!
-
I thought the vinyl was just black, but it is 180 gram black with red splatter.
-
Mine is perfect. I do wish they used that clear vinyl packing material that some of you received. Can't wait to get the deluxe.
-
Yep. If you ever get a chance to see them live, do it!
-
I don't know the pressing number on this, but I can't imagine it to be huge. This seems to be self-released.
I've seen them live once and it was a great show.
"Fortress are ancient battle sorcerers, who, for one thousand sun cycles, have cheated death and dealt blistering heavy metal thunder upon the known and unknown worlds. They are also nerds."
You can listen and order vinyl here:

If you don't have this yet, stop being an idiot. No, really...

too lazy to look, how much is the Carbon? The Plus version of this looks sick af in black with the clear platter. Might get it if it's worth it.
I can't recommend the Carbon enough for the "entry" level higher quality turntable. I bought the piano black and then added an Acryl It platter later. I noticed a sound difference right away and did sound comparisons side by side with my Numark Pro TT2. It also comes with a presinstalled 2m Red cartridge.
I would say to anyone looking to buy a cheaper table to save a few more bucks and go with the Carbon. Told my buddy to buy one because he is just getting back into records and he is stoked. I'm not an audiophile, I just know this is a damn nice table.

I don't know if Athletics have already been mentioned in this thread, but since I was listening to them and just remembering how damn awesome they are:

Post rock with vocals? An angstier sounding mix of Sigur Ros and If These Trees Could Talk and maybe Gates? You be the judge.
I believe the limited vinyl for this release is still available.

Love my Eventide Space. I don't think I use it to its full potential, but in time.

I've never played with a loop pedal and feel like I need to give one a try.

A copy of G&G was listed, and evaporated quickly, on discogs not too long ago @$100 + make offer (I think a new seller, too). I didn't check my email until about 3 hrs after it was listed, so you know it wasn't me that got it and I'm gathering not you either
Funny, I think that has happened twice in the last month for the same price. I wonder if it sold or if there was some other funny business going on. All I know is that guy trying to sell one for $180 is high in many different ways. Patience will have to be my best friend.

Same. This variant is way better. Want.
Really? C'mon, the blue black looks superior in every way.

I saw him last night on Hollywood Blvd and it was an experience! He played a few new songs and they weren't bad. It's hard to compare anything new with the classic stuff because of the mountain of nostalgia that comes along with it. His heart is still clearly in it and I'm glad he's continuing to write and perform. I'll be picking it up.
Was that the Myspace concert with Justin Timberlake?

So many people in here remind me of what I thought trading was when I was five.
I'll trade you two nickels for one quarter. You know two is more than one.

Still looking... Who wants some cash?
-
The higher and higher prices go for records and the way some variants are handled are both reasons for me that I am cutting back and planning on cutting even further. Too many impulse buys and many unnecessary multiple variants have bloated my collection and I need to cleanse it soon. It's also nice having money in the savings account.

I've always hated the "make offer" bullshit because I've made such offers and had people not respond. Not ridiculous lowball offers either. Asking someone to make an offer if they initiate contact with you or because they posted a wanted list is reasonable.
I understand that some people don't want to post their possibly high prices in the actual thread, but if you are putting up a for sale post you should be able to give the buyer some sort of ballpark price if they pm you.
I've also found that many "make offer" and "don't ask how much or I will ignore you" sales threads are looking for ebay prices without the fees. The solution is to just pass.

^This. granted, the discussion was a little idiotic at first, but derek and nothingnatural exchanged some pretty decent points regarding this release.
Personally, I don't see much of a problem with this release so far. I'm really surprised people thought the first variant would be the only non-standard version. 500 is low for this. I figured several colors would be released, given how recent Pelican albums have been issued. I don't care for either pastel variant so far. Hoping for a standard black.
I'm sure you won't have to hope too hard for that one.

I put the record release version in my cart, it sold out while I was looking for other things so I just ordered it on red, then I see Coke Bust had some record release copies in their own webstore. I give up.
Excited to finally get it though, the two songs I heard from it are really good.
It's not sold out yet...

As much as I hate picture discs, I am going to probably have to get that Ike and Tina one. If the dvd is actually never before released footage it should be pretty damn cool. I found a live performance of them in Europe on Netlfix and they completely killed it.
I've seen Hated and other GG stuff. Interesting like watching a terrible car accident, but not something most people need to own.

Stream is up. As I can see someone already posted... but I will post again...
Just bringing this back again in case people don't want to dig for it.

Very thankful that I have this record. You can buy it from my widow when I die.
It is very strange that they didn't repress this when they rereleased the CD. It seems like something that should definitely happen in the future.
