I would say your concerns about the Italian Postal service are valid. I have run into several issues in the past with items going missing even when they are sent registered. Germany is an amazing place to buy records from because the shipping is usual very cheap. I have found that the most expensive (but reliable) postal services in Europe are The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, France.

If you're ordering the box, it already includes the white vinyl LP. I wonder if this is the same as the indie exclusive white one?

FYI: they actually got back to me very quickly this time and the answer is "yes".

Is it too late to cancel the W A S T E store order for my box set if they've already sent me the download links? I didn't use any of the downloads yet. I've emailed Sandbag to ask them to cancel my order because the box is cheaper on Amazon. I have emailed Sandbag before though and they have terrible customer service. I once had to wait months for them to answer my question and other times they don't even bother replying. Has anyone tried cancelling yet? I submitted a request through their "Contact Us" form. Are they responsive? I used this same form back in May to let them know my US W A S T E Store account would not activate and they did not reply and my account is still not activated. It's odd because I'm sure I set up an account with the same email when I purchased the AMSP set.

This album is fantastic -- every track on this album is a banger. A vinyl release was long overdue, I'm so excited about this! Has anyone discovered where one can pre-order this elusive "translucent gold" version?

Nope! But it says it was shipped like three weeks ago.

I ordered 6 RSD items from them and they had them all in stock. It took around 2 weeks for them to ship my order though. Shipping is very affordable but I have had some issues with them in the past because they use a very flimsy mailer. The box is so weak that the corners get damaged very easily and the box is very easy to rip apart (even by hand). They once shipped 10 LPs to me using this mailer and it got DESTROYED in the mail. The corners were all dented, some creased beyond belief and there were so many seamsplits. I let them know and they said they would send replacement sleeves. I requested that they use a stronger mailer, but that fell on deaf ears. When the package arrived, they only sent the outer sleeves and in the same weak package, so of course those empty replacement outer sleeves got damaged in the mail too. Their solution to this was shocking: "Since this has been a problem earlier when shipping to your address, we can no longer send orders to your address due to the amount of damaged items." Basically, they blamed the postal service, when the real problem was their flimsy mailer and packaging. I took a chance and ordered again from them because their RSD selection was so vast. This time they used the same cheap mailer but reinforced the package with 2 shipping bands on the outside which seemed to be better, but maybe I just got lucky. One item still arrived damaged, so just be aware that their packaging is really bad and customer service even worse!

I grabbed a Cribs and also saw The Courteeners, but that was gone before I could check out.

Right? Germany is record buying heaven. Canada is vinyl purgatory.

Does anyone else hate RSD too? I just wanted to say that RSD for someone who lives in Canada (specifically Toronto) is a nightmare. There are not enough good record stores and virtually none of them sell online. I swear, the only record "store" in Canada that sells online is srcVinyl and Dine Alone. So, the only other way to get RSD records is to go online to US retailers...but then there are high shipping costs and customs charges. Why is USPS actually so expensive now? USD$17 to ship 1 LP to Canada really kills any deal. Also, a lot of the great US retailers don't even ship to Canada (e.g. Bull Moose, Amoeba, Turntable Lab--I think?) You could also go to eBay or Discogs, but they're all flippers there AND you have to pay exorbitant shipping costs (except if the item is coming from Germany because Deutsche Post is awesome). For UK exclusives, you have to wait a whole week before they get to sell their leftover stock online. By that time, you're likely not going to find what you're looking for and so you'll have to eventually turn to flippers on eBay and Discogs. I know RSD is meant to get you into a physical record store, but when you don't live near any or when they are spread out over a radius of 40km in your city, it's difficult to make that journey with no guarantee that your store will even get any of the items you are looking for because they don't have an online presence and therefore, you can't find a list of the items they ordered. Also, the highway that leads from suburbia to downtown to all the record stores was CLOSED on RSD weekend. T_T It's like this every year. Does anyone feel this way? It's like all I do at this time of year is line flippers' pockets. Sorry, I just had to rant. That said, has anyone seen that Smiths 7" anywhere? There are 12000 copies of it, why does it sell for USD$100? It's not even close to being rare! Also looking for Cribs. Anyone in Toronto seen these?

It's so frustrating that many of these stores don't ship to Canada! Tried Zia, Bullmoose, Woodstock...are there any Canadian stores?

I got a cancellation email too. Apparently they oversold a lot of purple Covers Pt 1! What I don't understand is the demand for the pink+orange, red+green and Hoser versions of the albums. Those didn't sell out for ages when they were first available. Kicking myself for forgetting that the black version of Covers Pt 1 was the 50-only test press. *sigh*

AHH, it really bothers me! I need to have a pristine copy for my collection. #OCD

Just received my THATH orange vinyl from the C&C store...there are seam splits! >_< I hope they have extra copies so they can replace it. These weren't numbered, right?
