I gelled with 2 songs on March Fires. White Leaves, which could be my all time favourite Birds song, and Sirin. Apart from that, it was... super shit. 

 

Its funny watching the banter between the band (who are sticking up for their 'change in musical direction') and the fans (who are saying that the band wouldnt be where they are without their unwavering support), who really aren't gelling with the new Anchors EP. Good to see the band sticking up for themselves, but unfortunately i have to agree with the general consensus being they've sold out

 

Still, its pretty funny! Go check out the comments on their facebook posts about the Anchor EP

The 2nd Law didnt really capture my attention too greatly, but i was a huge fan of The Resistance... fingers crossed on this release!

I hope they dont kill these releases like they did with The Catalyst Fire. But damn, i cant wait!

I was able to naturally start a conversation about some things I've always wanted to ask him. Mostly about Machina II and Zeitgeist. He was very warm and happy to chat. Of course, I'm now kicking myself for not bringing up other things. It was the third time I've met him, but the first time I was able to have a real conversation.

Is Zeitgeist getting pressed (not sure if he announced this when he announced the plans for repressing everything), and what about American Gothic? I'd love to be able to hear Sunkissed blaring through my speakers!!

I agree completely. Glad everyone seems to be enjoying it but I thought Oceania was stronger. 

 

Wow i find this album 100 times more enjoyable than Oceania... but thats the subjectiveness of music hey

 

Infact if it werent for Violet Rays i wouldn't even own Oceania...

 

How good is Anti-Hero 

LOVE this album thus far. With the exception of Run2me. Just me or does it feel insanely out of place with the sound/feel of the rest of the album?

Tiberius is incredible. Super high hopes for this album after listening to the samples. Absolutely baffles me the amount of hate thats still getting dished out on that facebook status...

I like them both. I'm excited for Monuments to an Elegy. 

 

People whingeing and commenting on their status' saying the old pumpkins are better need to move on and realize that only 25% of its original lineup is still there, and that bands change and evolve over time, even if their fans dont want them to.

 

And both of these songs we've heard so far is still 1000x better than half the shit we hear on the radio these days...

This is insane. After seeing the movie this album creeps the absolute hell out of me. Amazing how atmospheric it is, what a score!

Yea I mentioned this song as my favorite from this LP too (good taste ...but all time solo song? I think all of AMOK is better than the best track on TMB

 

But Atoms for Peace isn't Thom solo!! Haha

 

In saying that, i still prefer The Mother Lode to all of AMOK. Except maybe Reverse Running.

The Mother Lode could easily be the best solo Thom Yorke song to date... phenominal! This album is really growing on me!!

I throught Magnetic was great. Super happy they pressed it!

The "Burnt Orange Black" song that got released onto the net today is super strong imo, and if theyre leaving material like this off the album, i have high hopes this is going to eclipse Oceania by a country mile

Songs about Jane would have to be un my top 10 all time favorite albums. Ive tried to give their other albums a listen but they got far far too commercial and poppy for my liking. Disappointing, but then again 15 year old girls are a far more revenue raising target market than 24 year old males so I dont blame them for not catering to my musical tastes.
