I couldn't care less as long as the tracks are good, which I think these are (and much better than anything since Oceania)

I enjoyed parts of Oceania and on the whole I loved Monuments to an Elegy. Shiny and Oh So Bright did literally nothing for me though...

  2. Like Cyr.... But LOVE The Colour of Love. Sounds fresh, which I don't think I've said about a pumpkins release for 10 years.

Already 100x better than anything on Vol 1. Really hope they haven't put out the best tracks first and were treated to a killer album

Their three first albums are perfect !

Ahhh music is so subjective. First Impressions is not only my least favourite Strokes albums but one of my least favourite albums of all time. It's horrible and unlistenable (outside the first three tracks).

Angles and Comedown Machine, and The New Abnormal are infinitely better. And of course, their first two are flat out masterpieces.

  4. Apparently this got released back in February but it completely slipped under my radar. Amazing album, one of my 'why has this never been pressed' and now it finally has! Their best album in my eyes, if you like their newer stuff but have never heard it i'd definitely give it a crack!

Shit I didn’t even see this was dropping! I’d love Guttefower and Let Love In, but I already have Dizzy Up the Girl and I don’t care about Magnetic or that other one I’ve never even listened too. Gonna keep my fingers crossed for individual releases and keep and eye to see if anyone deep-discounts a box to move it quick.

Magnetic and Something were really good if you've never given them a go. Although Rebel Beat can gtfo

  6. This album is OK (only had 2 playthroughs), very much in line with what Billy was doing with Oceania and MtaE. If anything, based on early listens i probably put MtaE slightly ahead of this and Oceania.

If you thought that the inclusion of Chamberlain and Iha was going to reinstill the Gish/Siamese/Melon Collie sound then you're going to be bitterly disappointed. But most importantly, you probably need to accept the fact that bands change and evolve with age and they'll never sound like that again...
