  1. i got my turntable (it's a Sony) at Circuit City on clearance for $80. the lady there said they they're always phasing out their turntables and putting them on sale and then bringing them back. it's pretty decent, but i probably need to replace the needle and the cartridge and all that other crap i have no idea about.
  2. i prefer to listen to Answer That and ONLY Answer That...
  3. ^^ yeah its awesome. haha, and yeah, those transformer sheets double as a curtain for my record shelf. plus they were clean.
  4. almost have a complete Shook Ones collection. i'm only missing two variations of the demo and one variation of their Slaughter 7" that's limited to only two copies. edit: and the FFF record release poster, if you count that. 5. They were so awesome at Warped in Chicago yesterday. HUGE crowd, too. So good to see a hardworking band finally get the success they deserve. that's great! when i saw them here in mtn view, apparently they had a REALLY small crowd. boo.
  6. Lawrence Arms - Apathy and Exhaustion (green vinyl /219) Lawrence Arms - Oh Calcutta (blue vinyl /240 in the mail today. classwar13--thanks.
  7. Larry Arms - The Devil's Taking Names great great song
  8. yeah i got it. it's pretty cool. nothing super spectacular that everyone should have. as for recent purchases, i won't be making any soon. my bank account just took a huge blow, and to this day, this one has beat how much i spent on any couple of records. Lawrence Arms - Apathy and Exhaustion (green vinyl /219) Lawrence Arms - Oh Calcutta (blue vinyl /240)
  9. they're awesome. they stole the artwork from Decendents' "Everything Sucks" album, changed the name at the top to SHOOK ONES, and on the newspaper milo's reading, it says "Everything Shooks". they had it in grey w/ black print and blue w/ white print. i bought the grey/black. they also have another one (i believe it's older, too), where they stole the Toy Machine thing with the letters written on the fingers. So it reads "S H O" "O O K O N E S" instead of Toy Machine.
  10. went to a show tonight and picked up... Heads Up!/Red Handed - Split 7" (Light green vinyl--Heads Up! Final show cover #20/30) Go It Alone - Histories 7"(green vinyl /200) Permanent - Sleeping 7" (yellow vinyl) Permanent - Sink|Swim LP (teal vinyl /300) a couple of sweet Shook Ones shirts!!
  11. AT THE SAME TIME???????????? : unfortunately, no. i was only gonna listen to the S/T album, but i didn't turn it in before the album ended and i let it play through SFL. i eventually went to sleep, though.
  12. AM! thrash unreal 7" (black) AM! new wave Jawbreaker 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
  13. someone suggested that it would be available on tour, but i'm not sure what else anyone said. so i wouldn't quote me on that.
  14. yeah, thanks scott. looking forward to getting another copy of Tell All Your Friends on colored wax. hopefully they're numbered like the first ones were.
  15. yesterday, i believe i listened to... Brand New - Deja Entendu Lawrence Arms - Oh! Calcutta! Lawrence Arms - The Greatest Story Ever Told Meg & Dia - Something Real meg and dia are hot. oh and late last night/this morning, i was listening to both the Kid Dynamite LPs.
  16. i agree with both flood and kyle. represses suck for certain collectors because they just make your collection even more (if it is) incomplete (let alone if it's a limited repress and you miss out on it), but for the casual listener and vinyl enthusiast, represses are good. i don't really wish anything was repressed. i wish some things were pressed to begin with, but, that's not what this thread is about. sometimes, i wish that no idea would stop releasing EVERYTHING on grey--er, i mean, different colored vinyl. the way fat does it is cool, but i think the reason why no idea has such a big vinyl following is because of the all variations and just the great bands on that label.
  17. personally, i don't like that cover. "Do You Still Hate Me?" was one of the very first Jawbreaker songs i ever heard, and i wasn't very impressed with what they did with it. those boys in SYG do have nice kicks, though.... haha. i loved lucero and sparta's covers of "Kiss the Bottle". foo fighters' cover of it... ehhh.... the emotion is all sucked out of it.
  18. won on ebay: None More Black - S/T 7" BOUND 7" test pressing (supposedly only 4 made, one for each band member) bound was jay shevchuk's band before kid dynamite. cost an arm and a leg. stupid bid on my part. $83.50 i already have a NMB 7", so if anyone wants it.......
  19. Shinobu/Pteradon - Split 7" Potshot - Rock'n'Roll LP got them at the Asian Man Records 11 year anniversary show. awesome night. they were giving out the Potshot LP for free.
