I can't say I've ever been a huge fan of the Veils, but the two new singles got me hype for the record. Nicola Samori on the cover doesn't hurt either.

Anyone going to the Cophenhagen Beer Fest in Boston? I think the wife and I are going to catch The Bronx in Cambridge on Friday, Sep. 23rd and hit a Saturday session. Beer list is pretty solid. Mariachi El Bronx and Tremelo Beer Gut at the tasting session is icing on the cake.

I'm going to hold out for the tour press because it sounds neat and I can tell my wife I HAVE to go.

I think, though I could be wrong, that the Space Foil variant was created at the same time but was made available to the public six months later. The language on the site is a bit ambiguous as it reads: "We are also excited to premiere a never before released Space Foil version of our Gravity 2XLP Soundtrack. Along with the original version, we pressed 500 copies of an alternate color way of vinyl, and housed them in a Space Foil bag." A few black copies also hit LiTA which really seemed like a repress but perhaps it was backstock held for replacements that had passed the "useful" date. If I were a betting man I wouldn't bet on Ghibli but I guess you never fucking know.

Yeah, the Shaw bit. I always find it amusing when someone has the exact opposite taste as me! Not to say either of us can be right or wrong in this case but Shaw's work is generally my least favorite, relative to the other artists they've used for LP art.

I saw a big rap concert once. The show was a whole big production, I bet the tickets were also around $100 and that doesn't seem terrible relative to the scope of the show. I imagine Kayne would be similar? I dunno.

I once worked on a beef jerky account that wanted to focus on action sports (primarily skate and BMX) to launch a new product. The athletes and endemic media were generally nice enough and willing to work with us. Despite their cordiality it was pretty embarrassing to explain that we were, in fact, doing photoshoots and ad work for meat snacks. The amount of money being spent dictated it was in everyone's best interest to treat us with some modicum of respect but it was pretty clear that they thought our involvement was, in many ways, a joke. Long story short, I can tell you first hand that it isn't fun to be an industry joke, even when you have a lot of cash to toss around. I can't imagine what it is like without any money. This label must be tough to run.
