  1. who repressed the Carnivore albums and how's the quality on them? are they bootlegs or official pressings?
  2. for those of you, like me, who never received their copy from The End the band has these up in their webstore now http://agalloch.org/shop.htm
  3. send them another email to [email protected] it's possible it got overlooked on accident in the wake of the Aeges preorder.
  4. lucky! i ordered from them as well, but i received black. i was kinda bummed that this didn't come with an insert, but for $9 shipped (gotta love amazon gift cards) i can't complain too much!
  5. i STILL don't have my pre-order of the white version of this. i've emailed customer service about this 3 times since March and every time they tell me "we're sorry, we should have more in the first part of september" it's pretty ridiculous and i'm pretty pissed about it. i won't be preordering anything else from these guys after/IF i ever receive this. a 6 month wait for a pre-order is too damn long.
  6. thanks for the heads up on this. had a $15 amazon gift card so i managed to snag the same thing for $8.93 shipped. says they only have 13 left in stock, so if anyone else is reading this JUMP ON THAT SHIT, YO!
  7. this. i think i've only purchased like 4 records from there ever. not only are the prices pretty insane, i'd say about 40% of the records they have in the bins are 12" singles. i think i'm one of the few people that has been to grimey's that was less than impressed.
  8. any idea why (on the NB USA site) the import is a 2xLP and the US version is only a single LP? are there extra tracks on the 2xLP version or did they just split it up differently?

  12. Caspian - The Four Trees - Translucent pilsner vinyl w/maroon & black splatter (limited to 100 copies) - Clear vinyl w/bronze swirl (limited to 100 copies) - Bronze vinyl (limited to 400) "Originally released on Dopamine Records in 2007, then later reissued the same year on vinyl by The Mylene Sheath, and finally re-released in 2010 on CD & digital formats by The Mylene Sheath, the debut full length by Caspian sounds just as fresh, sincere and genuine today as it did six years ago. Emotive instrumental rock that is essential listening for anyone into "post" anything. This second vinyl pressing, and first since 2007, features all new artwork and layout by long-time collaborator Nate Shumaker for Northern Lights Industries. Since releasing "The Four Trees" the band has gone on to release "Tertia" in 2009 (The Mylene Sheath), "Live at Old South Church" in early 2012 (The Mylene Sheath), and most recently, "Waking Season" in the fall of 2012 (Triple Crown), all to widespread critical acclaim. After two years of headlining, sold-out SXSW showcases and successful US tours with the likes of Minus The Bear, Cursive, Red Sparowes, Native, and Junius, as well as several European jaunts, the band appears poised for world takeover. Indeed it's high-time to make this landmark debut full-length available on vinyl once again, for the first time in half a decade. "The Four Trees" will finally be reissued on vinyl May 28th via The Mylene Sheath." Lavinia - Take Shelter EP "Following their harrowing 2010 debut EP "There Is Light Between Us", Lavinia returns with their follow-up 7", "Take Shelter". Once again featuring Nate Shumaker (ex-Eksi Ekso, On Fire) on guitar and vocals and Alex Mihm (Eksi Ekso) on drums, this time Philip Jamieson (Caspian) moves to guitar instead of bass, and John Helmig (formerly of Everdown, Crown Vict) plays bass. The two new songs push even further into the bleak territory explored on the debut, with a heavier backdrop this time around. The band starts things out with the beautifully haunting "New Blood", as the shimmering guitars gradually ascend into crunchier, nastier terrain before subsiding to allow space for Shumakers refrained vocal passages, then culminating in the heaviest sound the band has ever achieved. Then you're greeted with the sorrow of "Halo", which builds up at a dreamy pace before it chugs and crushes like a forest of falling and colliding trees, a driving close-out to the 7". In addition to his bass duties, Helmig also recorded the songs at Verse Media in Manchester, NH, then they were sent off to Jason Martin (Starflyer 59) for mastering. "Take Shelter" will be released worlwide both digitally and on limited edition vinyl May 28th via The Mylene Sheath." Limited to white w/black splatter: 100 | half white/half black: 100 | white/black swirl: 300 Preorder everything here!!!

  15. at first, i thought it was just a promo flat the guy had for sale. he was selling autographed posters/concert photos and only had 3 records for sale. this was one of them. it was kind of sitting behind a poster hanging up and i caught it out of the corner of my eye. it was one of those heart racing moments when you think "this can't be real. it's too good to be true." it was certainly my score of the weekend. i passed on a sealed UK pressing of ACS for $90 at the next table i stopped at because of the upcoming reissue. i managed to snag a copy of Holy Wood this morning on eBay for $50 shipped. i didn't really want to pay that much for it, but i REALLY want that record.
  16. i managed to snag a sealed OG press of Mechanical Animals at the Fall Austin Record Convention for $25. i thought there was a mistake on the price so i had to ask the guy three times.
  17. this is the method i use, other than the vacuum at the end. EDIT: this iis not my video, i just use his method

  19. Lovely assumption that I'm a 'new vinyl collector' fyi, the email that I sent to them was extremely nice and respectful, but hey while we're making assumptions, might as well assume my email to them was a pain in the ass complaint. About par for the course around here. I'll go back to lurking and reading all of the snarky comments from afar.
  20. Because I know plenty of people who ordered before and well after me who have gotten their records and shopping confirmations. If they are going in order of date received and people who ordered over a week after I did and live near me have already received their records, then obviously something went wrong somewhere with my order. Why give a reference number when an order is placed if customer service isn't going to use it when you email them with it? I've never had a problem thus far ordering from SL,but there are countless reports of people never receiving merch or refunds from them when something like this has happened to them.
  21. i ordered on 04/20 and still have yet to receive a shipping notice OR a package in the mail. i emailed customer service and this was the reply i got: pretty sure that means i'm fucked and i'll never see a record OR a refund.
