  1. I just got 2 packages from GoHastings last week and both were in standard vinyl mailers. Prior to that I've order a few other times and it was never bad. I have gotten some damaged records from them, but they were clearance stuff that looked like it was just beat to heck sitting on a shelf and moved around a bunch.
  2. Scientific America had an article where this was brought up. The weird thing is that sex is great for a migraine, but masturbation not as much. With sex your body releases a chemical that helps with migraine symptoms, but masturbation your body doesn't release the same chemicals in your brain. I'll try and find the article, mostly because I want to make sure I'm not misquoting anything.
  3. Once it gets closer let me know if you want me to look out for anything for you.
  4. Damn, wish my Records store had free beer. They do give a $1 off coupon for a beer though so it's something. (although I always lose coupons) I don't know why I'm so dumb, but as record store gets closer the hype gets to me and I must haz all teh recerds. (and yes I did punch myself in the testicles for typing that last part) Regardless of if I want anything I still plan on going there 4 or 5 hours early. Each of the past few years we've had the same 6 - 8 people show up early and it's humorous how much we've gotten to know each other just waiting in line for teh vinylz
  5. Yeah, there isn't anything I feel as though I need. Jurassic 5 maybe. Death by Stereo - If Looks Could Kill I'd Watch You Die I'll probably pick up because my old copy is pretty beat up. Other than that I don't know what I'll pick up. With that said I'll be in line at 3 am and I'll probably spend $300 or more. Also if you don't have that Death by Stereo record y'all need to pick it up. Early DBS is A-MAY-ZZING
  6. I decree when cheeseballz and themeconsiparacy start dating they need to merge their accounts and henceforth be known as thecheeseconspiracy.
  7. I thought she was telling you to watch the Vin Diesel masterpiece xXx on your lunch break.
  8. Whoopsie, I actually thought she was already married. Apparently I pay limited attention.
  9. Monday is Mac and Cheese with Tofu day for me. Dinner is Pesto Cavatapi with Tofu.
  10. I love Next Generation. Patrick Stewart is absolutely amazing. The Borg episodes are my favorite TV episodes of any show / series. The Q episodes are not far behind. With DS9 that was the Trek that I grew up watching on Friday nights so I'm sure that skews my perspective a bit. The Jem Hadar episodes are great and the Dark episodes are amazing. Cardasians and Klingons get showcased more and they are amazing.
  11. Late to the party, but Star Trek >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Star Wars Not even close. And Deep Space Nine > Next Generation >>>>>>> Voyager > Original > Enterprise I'm sure most Trekies would have the Original series or Next Generation as the best, but I loved DS9.
  12. Which is why the minimum wage is a joke. At best minimum wage will keep someone treading water. Good luck, hope you get something better paying in line with your degree asap.
  13. This is a pretty small festival. It's in Appleton, WI so it definitely does have it's limitations. Every show is also free as admittance allows. They do offer a VIP ticket that allows priority entrance. The headliners each year have been acts that are tied to they guy who puts it on, Corey Chisel (the local legend). Year one it was Norah Jones. Norah is producing his Chisels wifes new album. Year two it was going to be the Milk Carton Kids, but they had to cancel so it was Langhorne Slim who is one of Chisels best friends. Because of the limitations of the Festival what they try and do is target bands that have large followings in their local region and are starting to branch out, like Desert Noises. There are a ton of bands that have developed real strong followings in the Midwest due to their Mile of Music tours. SC Mira was a small band that hadn't played much out of Canada and got a pretty big following in MI, WI, MN after their appearance. Swear and Shake, Desert Noises, Mutts, Pop Goes the Evil, Nikki Lane and Sturgil Simpson are just a few of the other bands that people 'round here go pretty nuts for now Last year they were able to bring in some pretty decent acts. Should have had Milk Carton Kids, which would have been huge. They did have Sturgil Simpson, Baseball Project, Autumn Defense, Boom Forest, Emporers of Wyoming, Ruby Amanfu, Turbo Fruits which is a pretty solid lineup considering what they have to work with. Rumors are they were working on Elvis Costello last year and that fell apart, which would be a dream for me.
  14. Yeah people went nuts for them, they were a huge hit. I was a bit burned out from the day, but liked them. Last minute because they were such a hit they added a farewell show with Desert Noises closing out the festival. They were such a hit that for the Mile of Music New Years show they ended up bringing them back. They actually used what they had budgeted for two bands to lure Desert Noises to play.
  15. My buddy made friends with the guys putting on our local music festival. Week ago he texted me saying that the guys emailed him asking for suggestions on bands to recruit. He brought up Tim Barry, Austin Lucas, Two Cow Garage, Drive By Truckers and Possessed by Paul James. He just now texted me say he's got a meeting set up next week with them going over bands to recruit. He told me to come up with some bands I want him to bring up. Fuck yeah, my hopes are getting high. I'm trying to keep it to mid sized bands and smaller to keep things realistic but I've brought up Ben Caplan, Emily Barker, Jolie Holland, Arlis Nancy, PJ Bond, Cory Branan, Jonah Matranga and my unrealistic one Murder by Death. Super stoaked. Hope that they bring in a band or two or more that he brings up. It's mostly a Alt-Country, Americana and Folk festival, but they also bring in some up and coming Indie Rock acts. Stuff that is big in their local region and starting to branch out more. In the past some of the Indie hits have been Desert Noises, Pop Goes the Evil and the Blakes.
  16. Taco Johns over Taco Bell, but honestly I'm not a fan of the fast food Mexican. Unless Chipotle falls in that caagory. Wnent bowling once in my life when I was 7 for a school function. Think I spent my whole time in the arcade. No idea where PDX is. Assuming it's Portland but I thought PDX was an exersize routine. Shaving is a terrible idea, just terrible.
  17. I had very low expectations for this, but it definitely exceeded them. Not sure it's going to turn into a much watch for me, but I'm intrigued.
  18. PJ Bond. With how cheap it was I couldn't say to ordering the 4 pack. With a coupon it was $45 shipped for them. Plus I can give a copy to a friend I've been trying to get into PJ Bond. I'm not a big variant's guy, however I'll order bundles when their priced ok and it's a smaller band I want to make sure and throw an extra few bucks at. Plus I can then take the extra records and pass them on to people who should like the band but don't yet. Yes I know my musical taste is not in line with the rest of y'all 'round here.
  19. Today I pulled move that should induct me into The Hobby Club Ordered 4 copies of the same LP.
  20. I have never eaten a Charleston Chew, no idea what is even in them. ...and I may have over exagerated the knife and fork, but since my beard has gotten to large I've had to start using a knife and fork to eat. Or risk getting food everywhere. It's surprising how many foods taste better with a knife and fork.
  21. I think I need to pick up some Milky Way Darks and put them in the fridge. But the only way to eat them is with a knife and fork. Why does everything taste better when using a knife and fork?
