  1. When I was doing my sale a guy went through and came up with a $150 worth of records and message me to see if I'd take $30 shipping included. I politely told him no thanks and he seemed to get a bit pissy about me not making a counter offer. I politely told him that we were to far apart it wasn't worth my time to send a counter offer. So, yeah, I know where you're coming from.
  2. Pulled this out of my dinner friday night at work. Makes me want to do a heck of a lot more cooking myself. https://flic.kr/p/qGcBBb 20150313_204227 by rainbowtroutoctagon, on Flickr Thought it was easier posting pictures on here, but eh, it's a large-ish 1 1/4 inch x 3/4 in chunk of jagged plastic.
  3. I completely get that logic and if this was a higher dollar value league I'l probably apply that. This is however a casual league of friends and acquaintences so I play it fast and loose. I'll go with my gut and will play based off of long term upside. The other league I do I play things a bit more conservatively but honestly I'm not the best fantasy player. I like playing and having a good time but mostly this is a nice distraction when I'm at work. Gives me something to distract my brain with at work. I'll make some bonehead moves because trading is fun. Like last year when I gave up Stanton and Bumgarner for Beltre. I was going to have to throw back Bumgarner and thought Beltre was going to be amazing with Fielder there. Whoopsie, flummoxed that one up good
  4. It's all about long term. There are not limits to the length of time you can keep a player. The league is one where you also keep 3 hitters and 2 pitchers. I know that isn't a standard keeper set up but we've got a group of guys who wanted a more casual keeper league setup. Regarding Fernandez going in round 1, we have one new guy this year who is taking over a team this year. He's in the other keeper league that I do and I know that he's nuts about Fernandez. The reason I'm pretty certain that he'd draft him is that his keepers are pretty terrible and I know he's going to take this year to try and build a better keeper roster. Regarding why I kept Fernandez. I love Harvey quite a bit so it was tough to let him go. However, the league is a straight rotisserie which means it's easier to deal with a guy on the bench / DL slot for a large chunk of the season. Yeah theres no doubt that Harvey is going to be a more valuable player than Fernandez this year, and it won't be close. Flip side I think that long term Fernandez is one of the only pitchers in baseball that could rival Kershaw. Not saying I made the proper decision, just that it's one I'd make again.
  5. I locked in Andrew McCutcheon, Troy Tulowitzki and George Springer. Threw back Beltre because I'm really pretty enamoured with Springer. For pitchers I ended up going with David Price and Jose Fernandez. Was thinking I should keep Harvey over Fernandez, but like Springer I get man crushes and it's hard for me to think clearly. Plus I know a couple other guys in the league love Fernandez pretty fierce and they'd most likely draft him Round 1. Harvey is more likley to make it my pick so if I want him I'd have a shot at it. Thanks for hte input all.
  6. I don't know anything about the Green Dot card. I've been using the Paypal My Cash card. I'm sure they do the same thing. https://www.paypal-cash.com/where_to_buy.html
  7. Your just jealous that you can't experience American Health Care. It's American exceptionalism at its finest. Forget that every independent rating system ranks US Health care as middle of the pack at best. I mean the World Health Organization rates US Health Care as 38th. Just behind Costa Rica and ahead of Slovenia, if that's not American exceptionalism I don't know what is. Not to mention our 38th ranked health care also comes at the highest cost per capita. So yeah you can keep your cheaper per capita better health care at least America is exceptional in that we can afford (can't really) to pay more for worse coverage. America Fuck Yeahhhhhhhhhh!
  8. No idea if there is a re-loadable card or not, but all I do is stop at a Dollar General and purchase the Gift Card. So for me I'll buy the max of $500 and it comes to $503.95. Once you have the card you log into Paypal.com/cash. From there you'll log into your account and enter in the codes on the card and it will almost immediately load to your account.
  9. It does cost $4 for a card but I've been trying to pay $500 a month so it's a small price to pay. For me the big reason I don't want to link my checking account is I've always been nervous of a bad transaction on ebay leading to them taking money out of my checking account. Years back on old accounts I was selling off some DVDs. A guy said he never got it. I checked his feedback and over the past few days he had multiple comments about him filling Did Not Receive requests with ebay. I brought that up and still he won his Did Not Receive request. I didn't have money in paypal so they took the money from my checking account. Since then I've made sure I'd never deal with that hassle again. Hence why I'm the weirdo that won't link a bank account.
  10. I've stopped using it because paypal is evil. I don't like linking my bank account so at first I was sending them in checks for payment. What pissed me off something fierce was that they just wait weeks to cash your check making sure that payment is late and then they can charge you a ton of fees. They got me with my first payment in January. It was due on the 14th or something. They confirmed that they recieved it on the the 3rd or 4th of January but didn't cash it till January 23rd. Due to that fact I got charge fees and an increase in APR on the purchases and I lost the 6 months no interest. Mother fuckers. I'm still arguing it but its going nowhere. Now when I pay I go buy a paypal gift card at Dollar General.
  11. Before buying my house I made sure that my credit score was above 750 so I made sure I got a top notch rate. Since the move I've racked up copious amounts of debt. Getting stuff furniture and tools and normal household essentials for a home helped me toss money around like I've never done before. The good thing is there isn't much of anything else I obviously need now, so I can work on paying down my credit cards.
  12. Fantasy Advice - Keeper League having trouble making a couple of decisions. Adrian Beltre vs George Springer - I'm pretty solid on Springer but there is a little bit of me that wants to keep Beltre. and Matt Harvey, David Price and Jose Fernendez - I can keep two. I go back and forth on this to no end. Leaning towards Harvey and Fernendez, but I know short term Price is the best of the three.
  13. Nothing better than finishing a long day of work to come home and break open a fresh block of cheese.
  14. 30 wasn't to bad for me. 31 was pretty tough. Bein' older ain't no fun. Made me realize that I was at the point in my life where I need to figure out if I need to embrace my craziness and full on become a hermit who never leaves his house or if I can try and break the cycle and get out actually do stuffs. Tried breaking out of my comfort zone one time and I get a DUI that night. So looks likes being a hermit is my best choice.
  15. The injustice of the discontinuation of a coupon is utterly preposterous. In no way am I overstating the rage and fury boiling inside of me at this time. We shouldn't stand for this. Lets boycott. Lets riot. Contact Anonymous to shutdown their website. This is not an overexaggeration of my position on this topic. Or fuck is this really something to complain about. How ridiculous is that the discontinuation of a coupon is something to get pissy about? Sometimes this site makes me want to slam my dick in a car door.
  16. Glad y'all enjoyed it too. I will say I do definitely agree that this song is much better than the others I've heard. I do really dig pretty much everything I've heard so far though. ...and hilarious that you forgot you saw him before. I thought I was the only person who completely spaces out and can't remember shows I've been to.
  17. Hey man, super sorry to hear about this. Wishing you and yours only the best.
  18. I was doing good on not buying records for a while. That seemed to end last week. Picked up Pre-Order bundle. The picked up a few more at the gohastings sale. Then ordered the Ben Caplan record I've been putting off. Now today I broke down and picked up Suitcase Junkets two albums. Only heard about him yesterday but immediately needed to own as much of his music as possible.
  19. Sorry you had to deal with that. Perhaps I'm to trusting, but I've never locked a door. My old apartment I'd have random people walk into my apartment. Everything looked identical and there were a ton of building that looked same it was easy to get mixed up. A couple of times it was a drunk neighbor coming in. I'd also ocassionally have someone looking in on one of my older neighbors go in the wrong door. Just before I moved out I actually had a super drunk 60 year old coming back from a night of debauchery walk in. That was awkward because I just woke up and was naked watching a movie on my laptop. The joys of living in Wisconsin. Or perhaps the joys of being to trusting.
