  1. I finally watched this video. There is no question in my mind that the bus driver should be fired. Firstly he is working, almost without exception violence while on the job is unacceptable. Secondly that was quite the vicious hit, and one that shows forethought and not heat of the moment. While it may sound uncouth, I actually don't have an issue with a man hitting a woman. For me it comes down to the ability to inflict disproportionate damage. If your 6'3" 240 lbs and hit almost any woman your a terrible person, but you're also a terrible person if you hit a 140 lbs dude. If your 140 lbs guy and get into a fight with girl around the same size then it's more or less acceptable. Violence should almost never be used, but when it should have a penis or having a vagina shouldn't be the deciding factor in what is socially acceptable. I've yet to be able to fully articulate my point and whenever I get into the argument with someone I just end up getting lumped in with people who beat their girlfriends, and that is obviously not where I am going with it.
  2. Just saw this, sorry to hear about your issues with Damian. I feel bad I went back and deleted my posts referencing my poor transaction with him. To be fair after 4 months I did get my record. Looks like he's just screwing a ton of people over now. Glad your able to get a refund through Paypal. My transaction with him has made me stop buying / trading things on these boards.
  3. Terrible people are terrible. First, shopping at Walmart? Sadness. If it were me after I saw the pregnancy test I would have asked them if they knew where the metal coat hangers where, because it would be a benefit to society if I just take care of that whole pregnancy problem. The reference would probably be lost on them but i would have found it to be an appropriate response.
  4. Went to their show last night. They were awesome, obviously. Very few people seemed into it which sucked. I did learn a very important lesson. Until last night I never thought Cello's were sexy, now all I want is for reincarnation to be real so in my next life I can come back as Sarah's cello. Say Anything it was a different story. I swear an extra 200+ showed up just for them and went insane when they were playing. I'm not a fan of their music. I did for a second think that Justin Bieber must have came on stage with them because of all the girls just shrieking every time the lead singer came and posed on their side of the stage.
  5. Yet to receive mine. This is why I hate preordering things. I lack patience.
  6. Just try and cancel. I'd say up to 14 days would be more than a generous time, any more and the transaction should be canceled.
  7. I love this guy. Attempting to get some by going for sympathy and at the same time trying to get some with over the top bravado.
  8. Best. Text. Ever. The real question here is did you end up going to A Teamers and massage his leg, while looking at pictures of his 8 month old dog, while calling Dr. Ryan at MSU Emergency?
  9. The idea for that site is awesome. I'll have to check it out this weekend. I love first dates and typically can come up with good quirky fun dates. Years back on a set up with a friend of a friend our date was to a book store. The goal was end up finding a book that we would buy and then read at the same time. Especially for a first date that was just about perfect in my mind. Spending an hour or so walking around a book store talking about what you like to read, what you want to read. If the date went well then we can read the book at the same time and have it be a 2 person book club, if it's not then you have a book to read that you might not have read. I've wanted to do the same thing at a record / cd store. Spend an hour walking around walking around digging through bins talking with the girl about what you like musically, and what she likes. Then split up for like 15 minutes and each try and pick out something you think the other might like. While not for everyone, I enjoy the quirky weirdly fun first dates. If nothing else it's memorable.
  10. Music is a great way to get to know a glimpse of someone you might be interested in, either as someone you want to date or even as a friend. I always try and bring up music early when getting to know anyone. For me music is 50% about the actual music and 50% about the message that goes with it. My favorite bands almost exclusively share my political ideology, and frequently sing about it. So if I bring up Propagandhi and / or Frank Turner and whomever I'm talking to knows who they are and likes them, it's highly likely that our political ideology will match up. If they bring up that Toby Keith is there favorite musician then I know there is probably going to be little in common between us. Music is the socially acceptable way that I try and get to know some of the basics of what a person is about. However I'd never say that music is a dealbreaker with a potential mate. Political ideology and religious beliefs are the only ultra-mega dealbreakers. It's not even that someone has to share the same religious view as me, but it has to be compatible. My last relationship was with a girl who was quite religious, and her family was incredibly religious. I am a polite but aggressive atheist. I'll never deny my beliefs to appease a lady or her family. I won't rub it in others face that I find their beliefs outdated and dangerous, but I won't lie and say that god is my one true savior. So that is why I early on use music to politely gauge a persons beliefs. If I can play Frank Turners "Glory Hallelujah" and don't freak out, then I know there is at least a potential common ground for friendship. If they freak out, then I there's nothing I love more than talking religion with people who disagree with me.
  11. - Had the exhaust pipe in my car rust and rot completely off. Cost $300 - - Ended up being late to work because of the repair. - - - Spending that money means I don't think I should head down for Sunday Riot Fest
  12. It's an homage to the greatest Super Hero ever. The Man-Eating Cow, he's a cow who eats people, but only terrible criminals. The Tick is the best comic ever. Spooooonn!!!!!
  13. I have anxiety over whether answering the phone when it's a number that I don't immediately know, so of course I have anxiety over it. Yeah it does suck thinking that people you know might run across your profile but I am good at ignoring problems. As a humorous, yet related tangent, a few years back people found a coworkers profile on a Swingers website. Oh the hilarity. Looks like your experience has been similar to mine on eHarmony and just further backs up my thoughts about dropping that and it's crazy prices and trying something else. With eHarmony till now I've just pretty much checked out the daily matches and done a little bit of looking around and almost every person has a profile that is half about them and half about there love of Jesus. Seeing as my profile has multiple references to the fact that I am proud and devout atheist I've yet to see anyone on there that I thought was super cute and seemed to be someone I would get along with. Come on world I'm not asking for much I just want to find a super cute girl, who loves Sci-Fi movies, is into punk rock music, is vegan or vegetarian, can name 1 or more fact/s about Noam Chomsky, hates religion, loves baseball, plays video games and wants to play with my penis. Is that to much to ask for world? If anyone knows what dating site those girls hang out at let me know.
  14. Glad to hear that it's just a self deprecating sense of humor and not an indicator of a lack of self confidence. I actually share your sense of humor regarding personal appearance. Sucks to hear your not having any luck on the dating site. What site/sites have you used? I recently signed up for eharmony.com and like you haven't had much luck. To be fair I've done nothing proactive with it and only a week or two completed my profile. I need to be more proactive with it, but honestly it just seems so weird to me. I just can't get past how fake everything seems on the dating site. I'm not the kind of person who does well trying to frame my personality in a less than bluntly honest fashion, and because of that I fear dating sites aren't the appropriate medium for me. Although with descriptions like, "rigidly rational", "logically objectively egomaniac" and narcasistic dreamer with delusions of grandeur", I dont know why the ladies aren't lining up around the block to get a piece of what I've got. Hopefully you'll have more luck with your dating exploits in the future. I wish I could provide you with some profound and deep advice on how to woo the lady people, but I like you, am a bit of a crazy person.
  15. Someone needs a boost in self confidence.
  16. I don't see any reason to exclude pitchers from MVP discussions. Every 5th day a pitcher has, I would estimate a 33% control over the outcome of the game. The offense has about 50% control over the outcome over the game and defense and bullpen would fill up the remaining 17%. A hitter plays every day but is 1/9th of the offensive equation. So in my mind Starting Pitchers and Hitters have similar value to the overall outcome of a teams wins, and therefor should have equal shot at winning MVP. That being said I don't know if Dickey would be my choice this year. MVP isn't simply a best player award, it's about biggest impact to the team. My vote for MVP this year would probably be McCutcheon. Being a Brewers homer Braun should definitely be top 5 with Dickey, Posey, with anyone of Holliday, Cueto, Kubel, Wright being other contenders. If I thought about this longer I would probably have a different list but off the top of my head thats my list.
  17. I actually immediately looked for the tree-gina. Or Brian Scalabrine. Kidding aside, it's a lovely photo and you both look great.
  18. I partially followed the advice in the thread, and asked her if she wanted to go the Sunday Riot Fest if I end up being able to and she said no. She did seem to think about it for a minute and double checked the date, but said she had to work. After that she commented on my shirt, which was about reading, and told me the John Waters quote about books. So I'll have to try one more time and make sure and not chicken out and straight up give her my number. I'll try for coffee or try another concert.
  19. I signed up, thanks for the promotion. First time I've heard of the label and will give a couple of the bands a listen.
  20. Also wanted to see if anyone has tried to use these before: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/collections/display/frames?productId=10010750&green=2ddf3c00-59b9-f7cbf-7479-8c47c8c1152b I would like to be able to display some of my records on a wall. (The horror) Don't worry I want something that is simple and easy take down and swap out. Obviously I'd affix the adhesive backing to the plastic outer sleeve, and then just swap out the record and art on the hanger. Might just buy one or two to try it out if no one has tried these before.
  21. Haven't seen anyone using these but I just bought a second batch of these now and am liking them. Vario's from the Container Store http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10032642&N=&Ntt=vario Also another option to the easel, although this is probably way to expensive on this site is the acrylic plate stands. They are quite sturdy and the non deluxe 12" and it fits perfectly. http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10014412&N=&Ntt=acrylic+plate+stand http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10014411&N=&Ntt=acrylic+plate+stand
  22. This is the first NOFX album I've bought since Punk in Drublic when it first came out. Which would have been, mid 90s or so.
