I just have to say every time I see your name I see it as Big Mandy. edit; On topic I play Ultimate Frisbee. Actually just getting ready for bed now for our Sunday game at 9:30. Hoping that we can get enough people to switch to football when the weather gets to bad. Although, I am terribly, terrifically, terrible.

I just read up on that thread, thanks for the heads up on the fun drama. I'll say this most of the "critiques" from that thread are being taken as meaner or worse than they are. The handful of people that initially were talking about the expense of the record, were relatively politely questioning why it cost so much, and why such a large chunk of money was needed from the kickstarter. Adam and the other guy to take quite a bit of offense to even the moderately polite questioning, and it got worse one or two posters were actually being dicks. The initial questions seem to be from people with experience who probably legitimately were surprised at the cost of the project and wanted to make sure they weren't getting ripped of somewhere along the way. Most people, especially on a board like this will do a lot to help out an upstart label. Where the guys from the other thread are hurting themselves is buy getting snippy and little bit pissy to even semi legitimate questions. You have been nothing buy a pleasant guy trying to promote his label and the musician affiliated with it, so people will treat you well. (Just know now you can't charge $22 for you record or there will be war)

+ Finished my 18 week math course after a little more than a week so I had all day to do whatever I wanted. - Spent all day waiting for my shelves to get here so I can put them together and actually organize my vinyl.

This is exactly why I'm conflicted. I've been trying to see if she's given me any other clues she might like me and I'm uncertain to say the least. The next nearest Chipotle is 88 miles away. I literally went and used the Cipotle locator to find out. So it's a potential one and done for me at Chipotle. Qboba just can't compare. She doesn't want to spend the money going down to Riot Fest and now I might not even be going. My brother is moving that weekend so if I go I'll only be going 1 day. If I magically grow a pair of balls I'll probably just try and give her my number on the way out and tell her to last minute give me a call or text if she wants to head down to Riot Fest with me if I go. Or I can find another concert coming up and try that. Being terrified of rejection is fun. I'm 29 and I've never asked a girl out with out them either telling me that it's about time I ask them. I get that semi often enough which is better than the other alternatives. I also get Andy Dick and when I grow out my hair I get 70 year old George Carlin or Jesus, but not normal jesus Jesus after hes been hung on the crucifix for about a week. This is why I am terrible with the lady peoples. I over think everything. I keep going back to when a friend of mine was semi stalking a girl that worked at a local record shop and also at a sushi restaurant. The whole thing was awkward. He found out when she was working at the record shop and had me come along to try and help him talk to her, which by itself is normal enough. Then he somehow a few weeks later found out when she was working at the restaurant and had me come along again to try and help him talk with her. He requests to sit in her section and its awkward because the lady who seats us thinks hes a friend of hers and she has no idea who he is. About half way through the meal with me sitting there he busts out the most awkward attempt at asking out a basic stranger I've ever seen. He starts talking about how the only thing missing in life is a girl and that all that he want is a serious girlfriend and that she should be his girlfriend. I wanted to curl up and die, and laugh a little too. She says she'll have to think about and she needs to get back to work. We subequently never see her leave the kitchen again and has another server finish our table. From that point on I said under no circumstance will I ever attempt to hit on a waitress or anything similar. Let alone ask them on a mini date.

I've ordered my blue copy through Kings Road EU and I received the same email that all the Kings Road US people got. Vinyl delayed etc. They don't have a date stated so theoretically that guy could be telling the truth, but I've gotten no shipping confirmation or anything like that. My local store has this for I think $21, for those of you have listened to this is it really worth it? I go back and forth on picking it up.

$10 refund or a full return seems like a fair offer on your part. The shipper was negligent in shipping in a bubble mailer, so he needs to make things right. If it was shipped properly, LP mailer with stuffing etc, and it was damaged I'd say you probably have to suck it up but it wasn't so it's all on him. Asking for the $15 partial refund I do think might have been to much, I'd look at it as the vinyl being 2/3 the cost and the "art" that comes with it is 1/3. Make sure and be polite though, and send pictures. If he can see the damage he'll be more likely to be open to an easy return / refund. I'd like to also just back up what Jhulud said, any time you receive a record packaged improperly send the seller a note. I just ordered the War Child 7" box set of amazon.com for like $24. When I got it it was in a proper lp mailer but with no stuffing, with it flopping around in there with 1 side of the box almost all the way torn off. I took a picture before opening. Then opened it saw there were a couple moderate - major creases on the box. I dropped the seller a message with a note saying I'm not looking for any kind of a refund but here are a couple pictures of what happened and just asked him in the future to take more care in packaging to avoid upsetting future customers.

This is the first time I've heard of them. That shouldn't be to surprising as my musically knowledge is not immense. I just looked up a song or two by them and it was good. 15 years ago I would have been blown away by them, these days my tastes have just changed. That being said I will be ordering one, if only so in 10 years when your label is big time I can sell it on ebay.com and make fat loots.

Never been there and have only heard of them from these boards once or twice but I'm sad to hear this. Wish there was a way to start something similar to a Kickstarter to help him try and get the funds to get a new lease going. I know I would throw a few bucks his way.

I am in need of Man Advice thread answers. Firstly I go into Chipotle a couple times a week and there has been a foolishly hot girl working there for a while. She's stunning, but I never really thought anything about her. Then she complimented my Noam Chomsky shirt. Beaucoup points for simply knowing who Noam Chomsky is. Then she brought up that she loved my "Real men beat their meat, not their women and children" shirt. Beaucoup points for being obvious, the shirt is awesome. Then last week I had my Dillinger Four shirt on and she brings up that she hasn't listened to them in years. Beaucoup points for just plain awesomeness. I've been in there once since then and we talked about Riot Fest and the fact that we both love Elvis Costello, Gogol Bordello and Frank Turner among others. At that point I'm smitten with this girl. Hot as hell, seemingly well read and intelligent, and likes amazing music. How does one go about flirting with someone selling them food? Or even is it possible to give her my number or even ask her out. I can't come up with a way to try and do anything but subtly flirt with this girl, and somehow going all in with "You sell me burritos. Do you want to play with my penis?" seems wrong. Secondly has anyone tried any of the online dating sites? I've been on eHarmony for about a month, with little success. The whole finding someone compatible by reading a paragraph they wrote to try and seem desirable seems like just a terrible idea. Curious if anyone has done the whole online dating thing with any success.

Look at the worst case scenario. It flops out and you lose the money. You will still always be able to look back on this experience and always say that you took the chance. That being said I'm sure that everything will go great and you'll have more release's in the years to come.

It's nice that your doing this and hope all goes well. This seems like an original way to raise money, at least it's something I've never heard of before.

Always have to check this thread when it gets updated. Sorry to hear things didn't go how you hoped RyBread. I can't offer any solace other than to say like most other guys I think I've been in a situation, although no identical to yours, similar to it.

Musically I'm not big into getting signatures. However I do have a handful of signed records, mostly from ordering directly from the band / musicians site. Strange Famous does a ton of signed stuff. I've probably got 3 Sage Francis records signed a B.Dolan or two, and a Scroobius Pip. Also I won one of the signed John Mayer test press' signed. Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson are two of the other signed records I have off the top of my head. I have wanted to start getting into signed books and or first edition books.
