  1. Had to get in on the 3rd pressing of this because I'm late to the party on this record, but it seriously rules. Up there with Blackstar and A Moon Shaped Pool for me after a half dozen listens. Can't wait to get the vinyl later this summer.
  2. Live Through This was a mega-hyped release from one of the biggest major labels at the height of the grunge era and weeks after Cobain's suicide. This was not by any stretch an "indie" release. During this era, some indie bands I was into were Archers of Loaf, Brainiac, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, etc. But in no way was Hole considered a fringe independent artist - it was well known what Courtney Love's ambitions were.
  3. Even Amoeba is going with a random lottery for people who preorder the album. This is nuts for a single that should be widely distributed. http://www.amoeba.com/blog/2016/05/amoeba-music/how-do-i-get-radiohead-s-limited-burn-the-witch-7-single-.html
  4. Everything I've read about it is that it would be a deluxe edition, so I'm expecting multiple LPs.
  5. They are definitely pressed differently. Both In Rainbows and KOL were 45 RPM and sound much better than the standard 12" 33 RPM versions to my ears. Not sure what they have planned for this, but it appears for now that only the packaging is deluxe here.
  6. I probably would have been on the fence for the deluxe, but I played the In Rainbows and King of Limbs deluxes over the past 2 days and they are still 2 of more amazing sounding records I own, so it's totally worth it to me.

  8. for some reason I had it in my head that these both were going to be 2LP, though that wouldn't really explain the loss of 1 track on side A. unless there's bonus content on sides C+D and they created all new plates.
  9. This and Harry Patch are two of my favorite Radiohead tracks and they are orphans.
  10. I don't know how I missed this! American Movie is one of my favorite movies of all time so this is a no brainer. Ordered.
  11. Pretty surprised by the demand for the Xiu Xiu record. I guess it's the resurgent popularity of Twin Peaks driving that - the record rules though. If you are at all a fan of the music from the show, definitely grab it. it rules (and is light years better than that Music of David Lynch concert set).
  12. Went into my local late last night and they had 1 left. Corner was a little crushed, but it was $90. Couldn't resist...
  13. didn't head out to the store because there's nothing I absolutely had to have, but I put in a small request list at Strictly Discs all of which say fulfilled, so that means I'm getting them right?
  14. for a place that's supposed to be about music, some of you don't know very much about music. but maybe I'm just old. anyway, I'll just leave this here and stop derailing. can't wait for TWIN PEAKS tho
  15. now they say it's not Twin Peaks. those crummy fags. but it should be announced soon. https://twitter.com/deathwaltzrecs/status/720710565707034624
  16. yeah that's the tweet - sorry couldn't get the link to work. It was retweeted by the Twin Peaks fan site supposedly involved in getting the packaging together. and yeah next week not tomorrow. der.
  17. There are 2 "lightly damaged" copies of that Airiel set on Discogs right now from the label for cost. Probably worth grabbing if you're interested.
  18. ah, gotcha. I think I got lucky then because the person I bought mine from sent me the version that came with Broken (the labels are indeed different on the two versions).
  19. I can't comment on any other version, but the 2008 press of The Downward Spiral is one of the best sounding records I own. I would be surprised if any of them sounded shitty to be honest as it is one of the most amazingly well mastered recordings I've ever heard.
  20. My advice for Broken is to buy a low priced original without the 7", then add this to your Discogs want list: https://www.discogs.com/Nine-Inch-Nails-Physical-Suck/release/1215353 and be patient. I was able to get one for $20 to complete the set.
