  1. Thinking about it, I guess I could also just add the regular version and indicate in the "notes" that it's a test press, though I assume I would not be able to add both a regular and a test press of the same album if I had both (which is frequently the case).
  2. For the people who use Discogs, what do you do for test presses? Do you submit them to discogs so you can add them, or just not include them at all?
  3. The single is like when Jewel came out with "Intuition" except not as good.
  4. I also love 451. It almost sounds like an indie Aerosmith song (not a criticism). That solo is straight Joe Perry.
  5. Just got my copy of Now Here is Nowhere. Haven't listened yet, but looks pretty good. Apparently 1625 were pressed.
  6. Checking back on this after a period of inactivy, just in case.
  7. Was I the only one who thought maybe this was a preorder for an album by a new band called Cleaned Vinyl With Windex called "Now It Crackles"? I was in for a splatter.
  8. Did anyone who ordered in the first wave get CDs? I feel like it's been mostly second wave.
  9. I am aware this is a common opinion. I do not share it - I find out about a lot of good music I probably wouldn't otherwise hear about through Pitchfork and other similar sites. I was more saying that it seems to have an appeal that I can see Pitchfork responding to even where other recent "emo" albums with a similar appeal (Goodness, for instance) didn't quite get that "seal of approval", not that Brand New wants or even needs it. Then again, I thought the same thing when Devil and God came out, so who knows.
  10. Finally had the chance to give this a good listen this week and, man, its lives up to the hype and is weirdly accessible ( especially in comparison to Daisy, which I also love), to the extent that I think it gets not only a Pitchfork review, but the exceptionally rare (for an "emo" band) Best New Music score.
  11. https://www.srcvinyl.com/brand-new-science-fiction-2xlp.html From the e-mail (emphasis mine): "THE TIME HAS COME! Brand New are releasing a NEW full length, "Science Fiction" in October! We have this up for pre order now! We suspect this will be limited so please order ASAP! Grab yours here:" I LOLed.
  12. Brand New fans: "How can we pre-order an album when we don't know anything about it?" Bjork: "Hold my liter of vodka." (http://www.news.com.au/news/bjorks-bizarre-drinking-habit/news-story/703793a6afa8ca9068532a0fdbd1b52a) Vinyl and CDs available through One Little Indian with a "Luxury Edition" to be announced at a later date. I'll be holding off for now, thank you very much: http://indian.co.uk/shop/new-bjork-album-pre-order.html
  13. It's been a bad week for my wallet already with the Brand New and Julien Baker records, but I happened to hear the song "Everyone" from this band/guy today and really liked it. I checked out the album and it just hit me right, particularly with what's gone on in the US this week. He's an acoustic punk protest singer out of Pittsburgh (Frank Turnerish I guess, though I don't really like Frank Turner much). Maybe others know about him but I didn't, so I'm passing it along. His bandcamp page is below and there are some vinyl options available through A-F Records. Check it out if that's your thing or if you need to feel good this week. https://thehomelessgospelchoir.bandcamp.com/ http://a-frecords.limitedrun.com/products/596985-the-homeless-gospel-choir-presents-normal-lp-mp3
  14. Had a 2 hour drive to my deposition today. Got there early and decided to get a Krispy Kreme breakfast, checked my mail and saw the e-mail from 6131, and got one just in time. The lesson as always - good things happen when Krispy Kreme is involved.
  15. I'm holding out for the "strenuously limited" version.
  16. I tweeted him saying he'd be even sadder if people realize they can come to him with questions or complaints . . .
  17. The upside of this debacle is that maybe, just maybe, it means Martin Shkreli didn't get one.
  18. The comments on the Facebook post regarding the release are better.
  19. I got through about ten minutes ago and it was quite slow.
