  1. I'm throwing this up here despite the fact that it's not a limited press or anything and may not even be of interest to most here, mostly because this upcoming pressing (it's first) flew completely under my radar until I happened to run across it recently, so maybe others who are interested missed it as well. I honestly never thought anyone would think to press it, but it's one of my favorite albums (and the album I put on the first time I made dinner for my now-wife). Craig Armstrong did a lot of producing and soundtrack work (including the Romeo & Juliet with Leo and Claire Danes), but this is a great, mellow album that I'm really looking forward to owning on wax. Lots of pre-order options. This is the cheapest I found: http://www.ccvinyl.com/craig-armstrong-space-between-us/602557589399
  2. I might go for this if the did it with Script for a Jester's Tear, but I don't love this album quite this much.
  3. Their twitter account shows someone pulling out and playing a copy of A -> B Life on vinyl and says something's going down at midnight eastern tonight. Might just be a tour, but could be a vinyl repress going live too.
  4. Finding the same phenomenon I find with most MO albums (except Cope) - I listen once through and think "this is a pretty good batch of songs", then two days later it's all I can listen to. Lead, SD is the only one I don't really like. Does anyone happen to know if The Alien is based on an actual event? Sounds like it might be, but it's so hard to tell. Also, for anyone else who was going slightly crazy thinking the repeated strummed chords that recur in The Moth (like after the intro) sounded really familiar, I finally realized they reminded me of The Dryness and the Rain.
  5. You didn't post the custom music box! Pretty cool little addition, I think. Looking forward to spinning this over the weekend.
  6. Guess I'll be cancelling my VMP subscription. I've never cared for the National and even listened to this album last week in anticipation of this announcement and it still does nothing for me. I've pretty much run out of useful swaps. It's a fine service and I'm sure I'll dip my toe back in the water down the road.
  7. Digital downloads are a must for me and I'm mad when one is not included, though I'm probably the outlier who almost never listens to music digitally and instead burns CDs of the albums I download to listen to.
  8. Always welcome a new album from him. Test pressing available if you want to drop $250. Also bundles including a puzzle because thats a thing now (didn't Tweedy do the same thing?). https://joshritter.merchtable.com/mobile/gathering
  9. I'm proud of myself for not buying this immediately. Now, how should I reward myself . . . ?
  10. When is the next Record of the Month being announced? Predictions? I've heard Liars, Sonic Youth, maybe Yeah Yesh Yeahs? I need to figure if I'm cancelling or not.
  11. Isn't that what 3EB did? I didn't follow the whole thing, and may have the wrong band, but I thought there was a boxed set they sold and acted like it was going to be the only opportunity to get them, then when they were all sold out, they were released individually.
  12. I don't buy it. I'm putting my money (literally) on a later standalone release. I like this album, but not this much.
  13. The songs have been growing on me. Kind of reminds me of Stars' No One is Lost - indie band I mostly like goes kind of disco and I like it more than I thought I would, despite pretty disappointing lyrics (what I've heard so far anyway).
  14. If you still need help getting hyped for this album, this should do the trick: http://uproxx.com/music/manchester-orchestra-black-mile-to-the-surface/
  15. I just ordered and received my color in color first pressing from Armageddon, so I guess I got one of the last ones.
  16. I've been disappointed in the record stores since Ear X-Tacy left years ago, but the pork chop at Jack Fry's is one of my favorite meals on the road.
  17. Swapped for Wilco, but that's the last swappable one I want, so might have to cut the cord after this month depending on what the next one is.
  18. Pretty much this. I didn't love Cope, but this is one of the few bands I'll really "splurge" for and I had a bit of extra $ of PayPal credit. My shipping was a little under $10.
  19. This site has been in "maintenance mode" for the last day and you can't get anywhere on their main page at the moment (http://themanchesterorchestra.com/). Anyone know when/where something might be going up today?
  20. I've heard nothing but great things about this. It's my 4 year olds favorite album and will probably be my next purchase.
  21. I haven't heard any of this band's previous stuff, but I've been digging what I've heard from this new album recently. https://headnorthny.bandcamp.com/ Vinyl is on the expensive side, but being cut by the Little Elephant people. http://headnorth.limitedrun.com/products/592845-the-last-living-man-alive-12-vinyl
  22. I'm proud of my Yahoo spam filter for immediately sending this release e-mail for this one to spam. I'm less proud to have been on the e-mail list at all (I think I ordered a Harvard record from them?).
