Thanks for the reminder. Missed this the first time around and thrilled to pick these up.

Been looking for Become What You Are myself. She gave them away as part of her Kickstarter, but I found out too late and they were all gone.

I'm pretty sure this is no more a trend than collecting records nowadays.
Matter of fact, people have been making these forever.
Yep, I made these (although mine are much better, IMO - more like bowls) for all my relative last Christmas. Just found artists they all like in the local dollar bin. Just put 'em in the oven at 250 on top of a turned over bowl, after a bit, throw a slightly larger bowl on top, also upside down, so it melts to a bowl shape, and take it out to cool. Big hit for not a lot of money.

There are a couple on Ebay for around $30. Picked one up myself - so nice that the RSD releases are starting to go down big time. Patience is a virtue.

Does it even look sealed?
It's actuallty Sealed.

As compared to Yeezus? What?
Juvenile's almost certainly not the right word. But very young, at any rate.

After listening to a a lot of Kanye over the past two days, including every album in order and Yeezus multiple times (courtesy of a lot of traveling for work), I have developed a wholly irrational Kanye/Brand New album arc comparison that won't leave my brain, insofar as:
College Dropout/Late Registration = Your Favorite Weapon - Really refined and exciting versions of things a lot of other people were doing. Sound somewhat juvenile looking back.
Graduation = Deja Entendu - Most immediately accessible and generally popular albums. A big step from the previous release, but doesn't seem as different looking back
(808s & Heartbreak = Fight Off Your Demons/The Untitled Album? - Not sure about his one, but both use a lot of electronic beats . . . )
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy = The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me - Most experimental and critically acclaimed albums. Departure from the "safe" music pays off big time.
Yeezus = Daisy - Weirdest, most aggressively atonal albums and hardest to immediately like. Turned off some fans of previous work and seen by some as lyrically inferior.
(Nowhere to put GOOD Music or Watch the Throne, unless there's a Kevin Devine/Jesse Lacey album out there somewhere.)
Cue mockery in 3, 2, 1 . . .

PMed. Great prices.

Got mine from Barsuk yesterday.

I would like to preemptively complain about the distortion on the vinyl version of Marquis in Spades.
-
At this point, I expect to hear that Jenkins bought them all and will be selling them signed tomorrow for $600.
-
Though I don't really consider them post-rock, along the lines of Rachel's (who I LOVE), I would suggest Clogs and The Young Scamels.
Also have to recommend All That is Not Music is Silence by The Sleep Design. Got it on a whim through Noisetrade and really dig it.

I had ordered () from Amazon.co.uk back in April. I was just about to cancel my order when I got an e-mail yesterday that the package was on its way. We'll see what shows up.

Just saw and the "Stephan's Leather Shirt" listing may be worst thing ever:

I'm thinking of submitting my own "Dream Experience" of "Go fuck yourself" with a bid of $20. If he's so hard up for cash, he might do it.

I'm just going to go ahead a put this here. There's really no telling where it will end up.

I'm holding out for the day when your Felix Culpa stuff goes up . . .
-
Books-A-Million. Picked up a sweet Limp Bizkit test press there last week.

I don't understand the logic of such a limited pressing. At all.
what's the most you've ever spent on a record?

It's hard for me to go over $100, but I've done it for the Neutral Milk Hotel boxed set (which was over $100 with shipping). Other than that, I think right at $100 for De-Loused and a test press of Felix Culpa's Sever Your Roots and $75 for the original press of Summerteeth.
