  1. You can probably find this closer to you, but at least here: http://www.recordshopx.com/artist/redding_otis/pain_in_my_heart/#lp-1
  2. Looking for: RPM Turntable Football 7" Suede - Let Go 7" Trembling Bells & Bonnie Prince Billy - New Trip On The Old Wine 7" I have the Paramore single if any still needs...
  3. Check these out: http://www.recordshopx.com/rsd2014/ http://www.stupido.fi/shop/catalog.php?lang=fin&action=search&usort=Tekij%E4&keywords=record+store+day+2014&format&go.x=0&go.y=0 I might be able to help you get some items if you don't want to order straight from the stores. The prices are crazy, but that's RSD and Finnish record stores for you...
  4. Unfortunately I won't be able to go to any participating record stores that day, so I'd appreciate a lot if someone could help me out. Out of all the RSD titles this year, the Songs: Ohia 7" box is a must-have for me. Most likely these won't even be available here in Finland... Well, another one is the Cake box, but I guess that's going to be too difficult to get. Of course I will pay the cost of the record + shipping costs + some extra for your help (I can Paypal the cost of the record before hand, if needed). If you hesitate shipping to Europe, I have a US postal address too. That way you don't have to worry all the international shipping problems and such. The shipping will cost me a lot, I know, but I don't want to miss out on this release. Songs: Ohia is one of my all time favourite bands. And I rather have my money go to a record store instead of a flipper. Please shoot me a PM if you can help me out. I can seek out some European releases in return, but only after the Record Store Day (or later that day when some of the items come available in the webstores). I haven't traded here on this forum at all, but you can check my Discogs feedback here: http://www.discogs.com/sell/buyer_feedback/Jsalakka Thanks!
  5. From "Joyful Noise VIPs" group in Facebook: "To clarify: the process Ryan and Josh are describing is correct, but at the beginning of the year we did offer more specifics of what the free items would be if you signed up for the full year, and we're addressing that in a special announcement tomorrow." So we'll see...
  6. I dug up some old emails. When they first announced the VIP membership, they wrote: "This VIP access grants you a slew of special perks and privileges throughout 2013, including: -- First access to all 2013 releases (you get first dibs, 24-48 hours before we announce it to the world) -- Exclusive VIP-only releases, free of charge (you just pay postage, we guarantee at least 1 cassette, 1 flexi, & 1 vinyl - but could be more!) * -- Special VIP-only colored vinyl (occasional vinyl editions, pressed on a special color we only offer to VIPs) -- Free advanced downloads of all new JNR releases (you'll automatically receive downloads of all new releases, emailed to you 2 weeks before the release date) -- Special giveaways (throughout 2013 we'll randomly giveaway test pressings, t-shirts, posters, etc.) -- Exclusive merch (t-shirts, screen-prints, signed LPs, and more - only available to VIPs) -- Free JNR shirt & personalized cassette compilation (sign up now and you'll get a free JNR shirt and the cassette comp below) * NOTE: you must sign up before February 1, 2013 in order to guarantee you receive all 3 exclusive releases." We definetely got the cassette, but can't remember what the free flexi was. I guess my "free vinyl" was the Kishi Bashi snowflex misprint which I wished for (missed out when the flexi first came out) when they announced the Surprise VIP Package in 4th of July. Can't remember any special giveaways though... In the Surprise VIP Package email they wrote: "We wanted to do something special for the mid-year occasion, so we are offering a surprise package to all current VIPs. The surprise packages are FREE (you just pay postage). Each package will be individually assembled by Joyful Noise staff specifically for you! Though the contents will be a surprise, we guarantee that each will contain a minimum of one audio recording and one peice of memorabilia. The audio recording could be Vinyl, Cassette, Flexi, or CD -- and the memorabilia will range from signed show posters, to mis-printed vinyl, to artwork overruns, t-shirts, flasks, iPad cases, etc. Available items include, but are not limited to: -- Kishi Bashi "SnowFlexi" misprints -- Dinosaur Jr. artwork overrun -- Kishi Bashi iPad Case (only one ever made) -- Sleeping Bag t-shirt (out of print) -- Joyful Noise Flasks -- Kishi Bashi signed postcard -- Import / Export 7" from Asthmatic Kitty -- Joyful Noise magnets -- Joyful Noise 45 adaptors -- Japandroids "Celebration Rock" cassette (otherwise Sold Out) -- Rob Crow mis-printed flexis -- of Montreal cassettes (spanning entire career, otherwise Sold Out) -- Victor Villarreal signed show poster -- and just about any release in the JNR catalog, past or present! You can let us know which items / bands you are particularly interested in and we'll do our best to accomodate!" But yeah, I'm happy with the VIP membership and doing it again this year. I especially liked the VIP only variants and test press week stuff... I like to support this great label.
  7. A bit OT, but: I have two copies of the og, both have GSL 75 - A / GSL - 75 - B / GSL - 75 - C / GSL 75 - D etchings. The differences between these two: - other has printed inner sleeves, the other glossy black sleeves with no printing but comes with 2-sided insert (the text sides of the printed sleeves) - the card stock material for the jackets is different, the inside of the other is uncoated and grayish; the other is coated and white - the black margin at the beginning on the actual records before the silver starts seems to differ in width Few pics: http://s916.photobucket.com/user/JSusi-o/library/DITC Propably my favourite record of all times, I hope they'll make a nice reissue of it soon!
  8. Now I got a replacement box set, and it was packaged the way it should have been in the first place. So ended up having two copies of the box set (#0023 and #0772). Both came with all three art prints and records in wrong sleeves.
  9. I received mine today. It was shipped (from UK) in a thin cardboard box with no kind of corner protection or bubble wrap. I have several serious corner dings, the largest one dinged the sleeves and the art prints inside. All but one records were in wrong sleeves. The corners of the shipping box were also left open so I'm just lucky there's no water damage to the box set. Just writing back to their customer service. I must say, I'm not happy about the quality of shipping and packaging, but I'm happy for the records and music.
  10. I went a bit crazy and got (expect don't know the situation with the Sebadoh TP:s yet): - Lou Barlow / Dumb Numbers - "Crack and Emerge / Last Night I Had A Dream" 7" - David Yow - "Tonight You Look Like A Spider" *SIGNED* LP - Kishi Bashi - "151a" **SIGNED** LP - Kishi Bashi - "Philosophize..." **SIGNED** 7" - Sebadoh - "Defend Yourself" **SIGNED** LP - Sebadoh - "Secret EP" TEST PRESSING 10" And then there's two more days left... sigh. Perhaps I just see the auction and what the Dumb Numbers LP is going for. That's the only one of the ones I wanted but didn't get.
  11. Jeez, here in Finland we have that for 43,95 € (roughly $59.5)! No way I'm gonna buy it. All RSD titles are priced absurdly here.
  12. Hah, I did the opposite! Or I'm in the middle of doing so, waiting for the XL to confirm my cancellation so I can order it from UK store. No free shipping though.
  13. Just got this email (from the UK store): "After the first lot sold out in a matter of days, we have been informed that a fresh shipment of the Eels "Blinking Lights" Boxsets will be landing with us soon... and you can order yours today! Much like the previous ones, these do have some slight damage, but with over £50 off the retail price, this is still a fantastc offer for all Eels fans! There's also other merch available fresh from their recent tour if you didn't manage to pick something up at the gig." http://the-eels.mamstore.co.uk/
  14. Ordered! Nice to have all these on vinyl (well, I've had Dog Man Star since the release).
  15. Test presses & posters for sale. http://www.mylenesheath.com/posts/106
  16. Finally got mine, ordered both clear and grey versions. Opened them up and they are both clear! The stickers on the side stated 'clear' and 'grey' though...
  17. Awesomesauce! Thanks for the tips so far! Last time we were there we went to the monkey mountain and silly to say, it was propably the highlight of the whole trip! So definitely will be going there again. We also went to Fuji, or one of the nearby lakes (can't remember what it was now) anyway, and perhaps won't be going there now. But we'll see, we have a two week train pass so it's easy to go. Luckily my wife has hobbies of her own that will keep her occupied while I'm browsing the record stores… Still, I must not to do that but just for a couple of days, I want to enjoy Japan other ways also!
  18. Hey all, I'll be travelling to Japan with my wife in July (from 7th to 27th). Mostly we will be staying in Kyoto, and about a week in Tokyo. We are also taking trips by train to some other places for a day or stay over night. We've been in Japan (Kyoto, Tokyo, Hiroshima) few years back so we have seen the 'obvious' places and attractions. This time we would like to more just hang out and relax. We already have some plans (ryokan, onsen, Kyoto monkey mountain, Ghibli museum etc.) but it would be nice see if you guys have any ideas! So, if here's anyone who could give us any hints for nice things to see and do, it would be appreciated. Also, hints for nice record stores (used & new vinyl) are more than welcome (for me, not so much my wife's cup of tea)! And if there are any good gigs happening at that time, we are interested (or a good site to check them out). Thanks!
  19. Oh great. Ordered milky clear and purple... got two milky clears. Sent them email, let's see.
  20. Also, the box is slightly different. Couldn't find any pics (else than US version) but I have seen the euro version at my local record store (I have the US version). The euro version box is little bit thinner and there were some other differences regarding the actual box but I can't remember what...
  21. I would like to have this record also, so if anyone can help me too it would be highly appreciated. http://www.dogfish.com/community/news/press-releases/dogfish-head-sixty-one-blends-beer-wine-and-brotherhood.htm
