  1. the thing with not participating in a pre-order is that nowadays you won't be able to get the record without pre-ordering it somewhere. unless you want to pay ebay prices. often times a record sells out during the pre-order, and if you didn't pre-order it you're shit out of luck.
  2. most of his recent releases have been delayed numerous times for one reason or another, some longer than others. mainly all the Blink-182 stuff he licensed and this Brand New album.
  3. but the thing is those distros would have to wait for the giant box to get to them, unpack them all, repackage each to go into individual orders, mail them out and finally the person on the receiving end will have to wait for that package to get them. all that is happening before people are getting them from MTS.
  4. i haven't gotten mine yet and i'm really beginning to wonder since peope who ordered through interpunk and shop radio cast are getting their copies.
  5. the recent Beacuse Sound Matters re-press of Dookie also has Ernie on the back of the jacket and was pressed on black. the only positive way to tell what press it's from is to check the matrix numbers, other than the obvious way of seeing if it has that green re-press sticker on the shrink wrap.
  6. Whoever gets this record out would be my freaking hero. This album came up on my iPod on shuffle the other day and the memories came flooding back. I guess I now know why their stuff hasn't been put out previously. it's most likely never coming out.
  7. they have been wanting to do it themselves but drive-thru wouldn't give up the rights to it.
  8. i'm hoping that since full details and a pre-order date have yet to be announced that the $25 price tag is wrong and it comes down a bit.
  9. very excited for this and equally as surprised that Drive-Thru actually licensed this out.
  10. you could always lease cars. that way you can get a brand new car at the end of the lease, every time your lease expires, so you're driving a brand new car that shouldn't have major problems every few years instead of driving around a piece of shit. it's the same thing as financing a car if you can get over the fact that you're renting it instead of steadily paying it off for the full ownership rights.
  11. i'm surprised and kind of upset there's really no damage like a missing tooth or a gash.
  12. Apparently city engineers and officials think this is a better way to get drivers to slow down. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/201....ns-of-chi ldren
  13. the Rays pretty much proved there's no need for a salary cap. like flood said a lot depends on how you manage your organization. the fact is you can win with a small payroll and that championships aren't won on paper. it depends on how you spend the money on your team, not necessarily how much you spend on it. the biggest thing with money in baseball is a team's market size. the teams that are in Chicago, New York, Boston and Los Angeles are in the bigggest markets in the country if not the world, and can easily bring in money, where other teams in cities like Kansas City, Tampa, Pittsburgh and Milwaukee don't draw from a market nearly half the size. there's revenue sharing in baseball and Bud Selig is trying to force teams to spend that money on the on field product, but no action has really been taken about the Pirates yet for hoarding all the luxury tax dollars they take in every year.
  14. i've been pretty much away from p2p progrmas like soulseek, kazaa and bearshare for many years. the last time i used one was probably around the time i graduated high school which was like 6 years ago now. blogs and old fashioned google searches are my ticket now.
  15. the way Showalter has the Orioles playing they might actually be an above .500 team next year. if the standings started over when he took over, the Orioles would be in first place in the division, one game up on the Yankees. and what's up with the Pirates front office. during their 18 consecutive losing season streak they have taken in something like $34.9 million in luxury tax revenue and turned a profit of $34.8 million over that time.
  16. what do you plan to do with this now that the auction's over and the reserve wasn't met?
  17. just make sure you get one with no annual fee. i have Discover and Amex and i'm happy with both. even though Amex is not taken everywhere i use it for all my online purchases because their customer service is top notch. they've helped me get my money back a few times when paypal couldn't recover funds.
  18. this is definitely better than their last two. i would have to go back and listen to Make Believe and Maladroit to see where this new one stacks up. I would put everything Green and earlier ahead of Hurley though.
  19. do you really expect anything less from someone who has caused so many trivial controversies from his outspokenness.
  20. i'm pretty sure all those versions of Decadence like Tokyo Decadence were just different mixes of the album along the way to the final released version. a ton of Head Automatica stuff leaked around that time, a lot of it pre-production stuff and demos. there was a ton of interest in any material because it was Daryl Palumbo's pet project.
  21. if they decide to issue mandatory evacuations be prepared to get fucked by traffic.
  22. PC for personal use but i use a mac at work, not by choice.
