  1. Those that remember me from the DF days have some idea of my Cave In collection. This jump to Relapse marks the end of my upkeep. I can't contend with the price or amount of limited variants they churn out. Fucking fifteen years of doing everything in my power to keep this collection complete, dashed away in an Instagram post. It makes me sick to my stomach.

  2. Purge time. And no, I'm not breaking these collections up. Most of these haven't been played for years, and are in pretty good shape, but defects will be noted. All prices in CAD based on median Discogs sales with condition taken into account. Shipping IS NOT included and will be paid by the buyer based on location. Since these are big packages, ballpark at least $30 within NA, and $50+ overseas - for tracking/insurance, double those prices (thanks, Canada Post).

  4. a little disappointed to have missed the opportunity to purchase, but that's the way things go these days. i'm glad most folks have welcomed them back (the speed the lp sold out seems evidence enough) after their self-induced fiasco, i figured they would've remained on nearly everyone else's shit-list forever. i certainly won't be paying flipper prices for FLY, but hopefully the band sees the benefit in doing another press or a cassette version. there's really no point to this post, i don't know what i'm doing here.

  5. thanks to working an overnighter last night, I missed the yellow this morning, and it hurts like a son of a bitch.  if anyone is willing to help me, and comes across a copy of the yellow variant anywhere, please buy it and I will pay you double for your assistance. most knew me as 'the cave in guy' on DF, though I'm sure very few know me on here, but I must do whatever I can to keep my complete collection up to date and alive.

  6. going to plug myself a bit here, sorry in advance. my pal and i are starting up our monthly music/vinyl/tape related podcast again. it has a heavy emphasis on the more “extreme” side of metal, with some smatterings of rock and other stuff as well. we’ll likely be covering a bunch of what can be found in this thread, but if you’d like to hear more about new bands, releases and labels, please check us out and/or follow us on our music-only instagram. to subscribe to our podcast, just follow the link below or from our instagram profile page, and join our mailing list. zero spam and zero bullshit. episodes resume next week. thank you.

  9. i haven’t posted on VC (or anywhere really) in ages, and for the most part i’ve kept my cave in obsession to myself. some of the old guarde of deadformat may recall me making a thread about cave in a few years ago, but that’s all lost now. since then, i’ve had no further need or desire to talk about cave in with the internet at large, but caleb’s passing has changed my mind. i took it as a sign that i should try my best to share what i have with anyone that might want it. high quality cassette demo rips, vinyl only release rips, rare cd material, photos/info of just about every version of every release. tell me what you’d like here or via PM, or by chance there is actually enough interest in this, i can start a cave in thread in the general chat forum. cheers to caleb.

  10. got mine yesterday. looks great, though the UV print titles of the albums on the front of the box is pretty tacky. the box has the side opening, so you can see the spines of all the albums, which i much prefer to the type of boxsets that need to be opened/sorted through to find the album you want/have those bullshit flimsy lids. the jackets/artwork are good quality, though the printed inner sleeves are sometimes lacking (the older albums only having black and white printing) but each lp comes in a poly lined black dust cover so you'd never need to use the printed inners anyway.

it's hard to tell in that picture, and i didn't notice it the first time i looked, but there's a very slight green splatter on chaos ad and it rules.

i've only listened to BTR so far, but the sound/pressing quality was very good, no pops, no warping whatsoever. even if these are done with a digital master from rhino, i'm fine with it. i understand roots is far too long for a single lp, but it will be getting the least amount of play of all of these albums, so it's not a big deal. for the price, this box is outta the ballpark.
