  1. My music library has moved and shifted depending on my living locations or laptop/PC at the time. I haven't used iTunes to listen to music for a long time. I remember my last readings on my last.fm account before I shifted all music off my hard drive were Melvins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Nine Inch Nails. Mogwai was also up there because I used to play Happy Songs... before I went to sleep which meant it played thru the night frequently.
  2. quick bump - anyone have recommendations for good books to be reading that concern these areas of the US? Monument Valley, Denver, Vegas? Thanks
  3. "I need more space" and "Fixing my isolation issue" threads. Reads like a Coping With Loneliness website. Which is probably about right

  4. Does that include meditating? That does seem a lot - I probably just about got that with Oblivion and I played the shit out of that
  5. I think there's a lot of Welsh influence in Witcher III - the card game Gwent is (I think) named after the county next to mine, so I can't take it seriously. plus I suck at it
  6. That's the issue. Should that be celebrated in the media? If Swift was making a documentary about it thenf air enough - why make a music video about that particular period? Because it's a nostalgic, glamorous time for successful white people? Just seems misinformed.
  7. yeah, that's not what the article is trying to present, obviously. they're not suggesting that setting up a film crew is an act of exploitation. haven't heard the song, does it appropriate non-american culture/musical styles?
  8. Anyone played Mad Max yet? It's fucking great
  9. a thousand times this. don't give a shit how nice the sleeve looks or how heavy the record is if the music is gonna be bad. heavier weight ≠ better sound
  10. any of my records that are like this have the records (in their inners) taken out and kept behind the cover in a transparent sleeve. they should hold up fine then
  11. Is there an official Here's My Gamertag thread for some VC BlOps III action?
  12. Need to ask for additional advice: Record shop recommendations for above trip please (Vegas - Grand Canyon - Monument Valley - Grand Junction - Denver). I'm guessing there won't be much in the middle of this trip but if you guys know of some shack in the desert that only has like 10 records in stock that are all Navajo psychedelic cactus music demos or something, I'd like to know about it. Mostly looking for recommendations in Vegas and Denver. Also recommendations for book shops if possible. And in Colorado, recommendations for, uh, those "recreational" places too please. Thank you again for your help!
  13. but coming from a country that's filled with rolling green hills and valleys, spending a whole day driving through a desert is a pretty big draw for me. we already booked somewhere in Grand Junction. It's cool though, it's just so we'll have somewhere to get drunk and sleep on the way to Denver
  14. Cool, thank you for the heads up. I'm a pretty experienced driver but my girlfriend only passed her driving test about six months ago. I'll tackle the treacherous roads! Do you think the road thru to Dever from Monument Valley via Grand Junction is likely to be pretty icy/snowy that time of year?
  15. Option 2. Don't give a shit about the weight of the record, in fact I'd prefer if more pressings were lower than 180gm, they just don't need to be that heavy. Is 2x140gm or lower in a single sleeve an option? Gatefolds are nice and all but if you can press more/sell them cheaper because of it then that would be my option.
  16. Great, thanks for the tip. Grand Junction is the only place we're not sure about - we picked it only because it's kind of halfway between Monument Valley and Denver. I'll definitely take a look at Glenwood Springs. Estes Park also on the list! Mid October. Thanks for the offer! We're not going to be able to take in Austin on this trip, but it's on the agenda for the next one in a couple of years I think.
  17. man, Taylor Swift gifs are SO hilarious!

  18. Thanks all again for the suggestions. I have a much better idea of the trip now. It's basically Las Vegas to Grand Canyon to Monument Valley to Grand Junction to Denver. So... suggestions for cool shit in Grand Junction and Denver would be great. Thanks.
  19. Last Tomb Raider I completed was Tomb Raider II on the Playstation when I was about eleven. Took me a while, cos I think some of the puzzles were not really meant for eleven year olds. I remember the huge hype when it was released too, about the graphics, the music, the level design etc. I remember it being a big deal at the time. I did have TRIII too but I never finished it.
  20. Just started this myself on Saturday. So far I love it. The opening sequences are perfect, just what I want from video games! One thing that's kind of annoying is that I borrowed the console from a friend who doesn't have an official Sony controller - so I can't do some of the things in-game (like recharge flashlight battery) without the official controller. Still, great great game. Also agree on those fucking clickers. Also started MGS4 and I love it. Didn't really know what to expect, even though it came out seven(?) years ago!
  21. I had been deliberately avoiding everything to do with it for a long time. I never had a PS3 so I never played MGS4 and I didn't really want to continue with the franchise until I could get through all the main games. Now I have an Xbox One and played Ground Zeroes, I can't wait for Phantom Pain. I watched the gameplay video online and it looks fucking brilliant
