corbet
I'm hitting up some shows this week and I eagerly await the chance that (maybe) the bands will have some Vinyl for sale. Bands I Know Sell Vinyl... -Murder By Death (they had copies of all their albums and tons of people bought them!) -Minus the Bear (tour edition anyone?) Bands I'll be Seeing This Week... -Brand New (obviously not) -MewithoutYou (their latest album was released through burnt toast) -Thrice -Underoath -Every Time I Die (gah, still waiting on Big Dirty release)
jhulud
Minus The Bear definitely has the tour edition of their record. I picked it up on Monday night's show. It's the clear with gold splatter and it looks awesome!
corbet
Don't they still have the tour edition available in the Vinyl Collective Store, even though it's limited to 50? It lets me add one to my cart, I've been really tempted to checkout before it's too late and I can't get it. Minus the Bear isn't even stopping in Detroit! lechevre
I'd get it. I just got mine today and it looks awesome. The jacket is very nice as well.
scottheisel
Doubtful that Thrice or Underoath have any vinyl with them; all their LPs have been in limited pressings and/or are out of print.
xjustinxschwierx
used to be almost everybody. i'm willing to guess that the bigger then band the less likely...and Thrice is at that level...usually the stadium/giganto room rock bands don't want to haul all that weight around. skumbucket
when the mad caddies, the real mckenzies, and the sainte catherines toured canada a few months ago they each only had one cd for sale...and that was about it for music. no vinyl at all. celebdeath
in london - isis had celestial and absence vinyl, boris had the rainbow box set, comets on fire had avatar and cathedral, but as a previous listing said, huge bands like nine inch nails, qotsa, pearl jam did not. and if you're in london, trencher always have vinyl!! :-D

xunspokenliesx
Yah, they were amazing too...I'm glad I picked up a black copy and didn't wait to get it at the show though...love that album and can't wait for their new ep that they have recorded
degausser
less than jake have been known to sell records on tour, their latest album they sold on tour and is the only vinyl version of that album so.. if you want one and you live outside the US, you have to wait until it goes on ebay and the last one went for like 60+

Virgil was able to get 50 from the band to sell at VC. The rest the band has for the tour. If you're going to see them, get it at the show....you won't regret it. faith
i hate buying vinyl at a show though
corbet
^^Really? When I bought my Murder by Death one it was at the very end and then I talked to the singer for an hour or so and he told me the story of the foldout LP.
faith
well let's put it that way 1. If it's pretty limited there's a chance it's sold out if you wait until the end... Bands usually sell only so many of their merch each night 2. If you get it at the beginning then you spend the whole show watching out for your record so it doesn't get warped, etc.
mrc
catch The Gaslight Anthem, theyve got their record for sale Yeah they had the white and red splatter when i saw them, but he also mentioned that they only had like 12-15 left, so i guess both pressing are OOP against me, A wilhelm scream and only crime had vinyl
kirbypuckett
I wonder if there's any Lopan Takes Japan vinyl.
Guest falloutcollapse
Portugal. The Man will have some on the Thursday tour (according to them) Fear Before the March of Flame has some with them every time I've seen them Minus the Bear, obviously Limbeck and the Format did on the last tour and Circa Survive had Juturna with them on the last Thursday tour (I am so stupid.)
