adamlikesmusic
I listen to both, so I can't really answer your question. I guess I swing both ways when it comes to my audio.
farewellnj
vinyl seems like it would be cooler to collect rather than a file or a cd
gravitylovesdrunks
the appeals that can be explained are obvious (beautiful, great sound quality, physical copies, artwork), but there's almost an inarticulable appeal to it as well. i love knowing that i'm acquiring music that i love on a timeless format. sherlock
here's a snapshot of how i feel. with either my ipod dock or my turntable i get to listen to music. it just happens to be that i like the experience of spinning a record more than pushing the buttons on my ipod. if someone took my turntable away would i be upset? yeah, but i'd survive because i'd still be able to listen to music. and all its about is the music. teganandsara
I like the sound and also so vinyl only releases. Plus the collection thing. You do not have to only buy vinyl or convert your cd collection to vinyl. Just have fun with it.

rivals
Because listening to vinyl makes you immune to shit music I think this board (and any vinyl board for that matter) is proof of the contrary.

steventangent
honestly, I think the biggest and most clear difference you are going to hear, for the most part, is anything heavy on brass.
