andrewlucas
So, our cat Lilly has some problems. Last week we found a tooth on the floor so we looked at our cats and found that our smallest cat was the one who lost the tooth. She's an adult cat and shouldn't be losing her teeth, so we took her to the vet yesterday. It didn't go so well. It turns out she has gum disease and it's causing her teeth to rot. The only solution is to pull out half of her teeth. We will have to feed her soft food for the rest of her life. The procedure costs anywhere between $600-1000. The timing couldn't be worse. We just moved into a house and are still recovering from that. We feel really bad about her losing her teeth because we know it was negligence on our part. We thought her breath smelled worse than normal but kept procrastinating on taking her to the vet. Unfortunately this is the result. Were going to do all we can to make sure she is no longer in pain and gets regular check ups. My wife set up a donation page to help fund the procedure. I know this shouldn't be anyone else's problem but ours but we would really appreciate any help we could get. If you would like to donate then click on the link below. Any amount helps. Even if it's just $1. https://fundly.com/m2/lilly-cats-recovery-fund

mameeshkamowskwoz
FYI, when my cat got really sick a few years ago (we had to give him 2-3 of 4 different medications every 2 hours via a syringe and force feed him food and water the same way which involved charts and setting alarms all night) and we had some serious bills we got a Care Credit credit card. Since we paid it off in under a year we didn't have any interest owed. You may be able to do the same. Good luck with the cat!!

andrewlucas
Good luck dude. Just a heads up I tried to donate $5 (all I can really swing at the moment without my gf killing me) and it told me I needed a $10 minimum in order to donate... I just asked my wife about it, apparently theres no way to lower the minimum. I guess its because the site takes a percentage and they wont make much off of anything less than $10. Sorry. Thank you for at least trying, it means a lot that people actually care. If anyone wants to donate less than $10 you can just paypal it to me. PM me for my paypal address if you dont have it already. Thank you for the suggestion. Any money we make from the donations will go straight towards paying off the balance on the card. At least now we dont have to wait until we have money to take her in and she can stop being in pain. Shes on pain killers right now, usually shes kinda bitchy, shes not mean or anything she just gets kinda grumpy, but on the pain killers shes all affectionate and actually comes down out of our bedroom. She was freaked out from the move and I think her pain in her mouth made the stress worse.

andrewlucas
I get paid friday. Would it be too late to donate then? Nope. I think the page stays active for 60 days or until the goal is reached. Lilly's appointment is scheduled for Thursday. The care credit helped out big time so we could proceed sooner than expected. mameeshkamowskwoz
I'm glad to hear that worked out with the Care Credit. Honestly, without that card, I'm not sure how we'd be able to afford all the vet bills!!It happened about 3 years ago and he's now 14. andrewlucas
I'm thankful my work offers pet insurance. That would be nice. She went into "surgery?" this morning and I'll be picking her up after work in a few hours. I'll post an update on what they did. My wife said it sounded like they were able to save a few teeth. I think she said they pulled 5 and her fangs. Apparently there was puss coming out when they pulled one. Poor kitty. :/
