scottheisel
I like how Ronnie sent us the money back directly instead of using the "refund" function on paypal, that way we had to lose $.66 to transfer fees. Thanks dude!
ronniethebear
Uhh, it was past the refund period so I had to do it that way. I was estimating on the fees, and that's why I tacked on the extra 50¢ if you ordered one shirt. Why u hate me?

skumbucket
yeah, a cheque. a written order to a bank to pay a stated sum from the drawer's account. i didn't mean a spell check. for checking spelling. although that's kind of an ironic confluence of words. ronniethebear
You silly Canadians and your silly French-influenced spellings. Down here it's "check" for both.
skumbucket
really? weird. it's actually a british origin...but maybe they got it from the french or something.
lokithelion
really? weird.it's actually a british origin...but maybe they got it from the french or something. Thanks to the Norman Conquest of 1066 and William the Conquerer most modern English is heavily influenced by Freach.
ronniethebear
Yeah, 99% of the time that "que" is part of a word that isn't of Spanish origin, it's French.

faith
dude in 1066 french was very different from what it is today. that was before the language was remodeled and influenced heavily by latin i think the french influence in the english language came much later. j4m35
its sort of a combination of both of those things. the upper class in england adopted french as the sort of hot language at the time, so they both sorta played off each other combining and meshing and stuff until it reached modern english. you'll notice that a lot of the time the french word means the same as the english word and vice-versa. i think. ronniethebear
None of this changes the fact that Canada is crazy.
faith
yeah i know you're right about the norman invasion its just crazy to me because its almost impossible to truly understand the french literature from that time without it being interpreted and modernized. it seems almost impossible that a french word wouldve evolved the same in the english language that it did in french, given the big changes that it went through during the "purification" process of the 17-18th centuries
