itsWetWilly
Don't be a hipster! Listen to jazz! Thank you.
HoldingSteady
What's funny about what you guys are saying, is that you must not understand "hipsters." I feel it's WAY more hipster to say Miles Davis is better than modern music (or at least the selections on his list). Not to say I disagree, I've never given Davis a fair shake, but come on. Let's not get all Citizen Kane up in here. hahaha yea thats what I was thinking. There would be nothing more hipster of me to do than buy a jazz album just to brag about my jazz album. Btw, I picked Elf soundtrack...

Some of us were listening to jazz long before some of you hipsters were born. If you don;t have the slightest interest in jazz (Kind of Blue is a 4x platinum album, arguably the best jazz album ever recorded), my vote is for "The Fool" or "Now We Can See". somethingvinyl
robotfactory
I think the more important question is how the hell did you not spend an Amazon gift card for 3 years? I can't keep an Amazon credit for a day without spending it. Stravinsky and highfives

Let's not get all Citizen Kane up in here. After I typed that, I realized I collect records and post on a record collecting forum. My statement is invalid. A music genre that is for all intents and purposes is dead but is entirely American is well over 100 years old. And that's hipster?

"Here is a list of records I've been stuck on but recommendations are welcome" I thought the suggestion of a killer album was a good recommendation. somethingvinyl
TheGhostOfRandySavage
That Wolf Parade album is pretty much perfect. I'd probably go with that, though Modest Mouse is always tempting. I'd actually grab an Electric Wizard reissue, were I you.
