kellyjanice
man it makes me feel really old when I realize I was a freshman in college in 98 and some of you are talking about being 10. I went back to my old cd's to see what I was listening to around that time and it seems that everything "newer" I listened to came out between 92 and 97. I think that anything I would have mentioned otherwise has already been mentioned. so I am of no help apparently.

Guest genericinsight
Even though I personally wasn't listening to this in 1998, I think this needs to be in the article... I can see/imagine this record was a huge influence on so many people: Converge - Petitioning The Empty Sky

slymer
I'm horrible at remembering when albums where released. I could've swore Samiam's "You are Freaking Me Out" was released in 98, but I just checked and it was 97. I'd have to say that Unwritten Law's self titled album is probably my favorite album of that year. I listened to that thing non-stop. They've never even released anything close to as good as that album since.
zak138
If some of you people were ten in 1998, than how do you know what was influential then?

zak138
Also, Scott you said "best/most influential/scene-changing/etc" Although I agree that some of the records in your list were very influential, that doesn't necssarily make them good

magalvsr13
If some of you people were ten in 1998, than how do you know what was influential then? the question is simply "favorite/influential etc albums that were released in 1998" not "favorite/influential etc albums of 1998 that you bought on the first day and knew they were influential right away"
brentoage
also came out in '98 that ruled: gang starr - moment of truth ALL - mass nerder beastie boys - hello nasty mad caddies - duck and cover
