jerseydave77
Saw this tonight, really good. I agree that Dre shouldn't have come out looking as good as he did, but I also think Dee Barnes did not need to be in the movie. You guys are looking for a Dr Dre documentary, this is a 2.5 hour movie. Can only do so much. Exactly - ITS 2.5 HOURS - do you know how freaking long that is for a movie? They found time to have multiple sequences of parties with bare assed women as if this was a music video but no time for Dee? I call bullshit. To leave out a fatal flaw that played a huge part in the beef during the Cube split - which they explored extensively except the part that made Dre look awful - is just stupid. You know why this frustrates me personally? Movie could have been a classic. They cheesed it out on the Dre storyline. Leaving his flaws on the cutting room floor and then giving him that out of place "Aftermath"exit knocked it down a peg. Movie isn't credible as a piece of history but it is good - should have been great.
pizza face
This movie was really good. It didn't feel like 2.5 hours at all. Can't wait for the directors cut
icecream
I'm kind've surprised they had such little mention of bone thugs considering the amount of respect they gave easy e. Also the influence he had on them and the fact that they've had 17 million in sales just in the U.S.
steventangent
They tried to draw the shortest line possible between things that happened more than two decades ago and today, which is fair. The anti-authoritarian, anti-music business, political bent was obviously less about making a statement and more about lionizing Dre, Eazy, and Cube, and the whole movie doesn't present them for their flaws - the greed or violence they were guilty of - just as victims who rise above to become heroes. Which, I suppose, is fair enough, since it is a biopic that was produced by, and needed the approval of, the members and their estates.
