suchashorttime
Fucked Up's library is so diverse, but I would definitely start with Hidden World. In my opinion that album is their sound at its core. If you don't like that you probably won't like anything else. After that I'd recommend Chemistry of Common Life, Couple Tracks, Zodiac singles (listen to them in order, the way they have progressed is incredible), then David Comes to Life and Glass Boys. I love David Comes to Life, but feel like it's different than everything else they've done and wouldn't be a good starting point. While I 100% agree with your opinion, I think David Comes To Life is by far their most accessible record, particularly for someone those who aren't predisposed to liking hardcore. It's melodic and less abrasive. Hidden World I think embodies the band the best, like you said. But people love DCTL and regard is as their best work. throughbeingcruel
Checked out David Comes to Life. Pretty rad, but not as abrasive as I had expected from a band with that name haha. Definitely checking out more.
cambionic
This has nothing to do with the album, but this band always reminds me of my friend David who committed suicide. The song David Comes to Life will always be attached to him, because his boyfriend posted the song on his Facebook profile the night he killed himself. GHOSTDRONES
Hidden World, Chemistry Of Common Life, and the early singles are my favorites from this band. A bunch of long time listeners might agree that David... shows the band moving further away from their initial sensibilities.

jhook
The early singles ruled, saw them a bunch during that period, don't hate the newer stuff but prefer the old, ya know?
