yancey47
Sugar and Nova Mob were both great bands and both Hart and Mould continue to put out great albums and captivating live shows. I don't get the need to take sides. Let's just appreciate them without putting them in Some competition.

ExtraFox
Hart and mould were equally important to husker du...hart solo career and nova mob isn't even close to Bob solo and sugar Whilst Hart started well with Intolerance, he was unlucky with labels, didn't work with such talented musicans and in my opinion made the mistake of moving from drums to guitar (he's a far better drummer than guitarist). Even with all that Sugar deservedly outshone Nova Mob and Hart's output since then has been poor. That said, there isn't a Bob Mould record I would listen to the whole way through since Hubcap. Oh, and Sugar were very inconsistent live (I saw them shine at the Brixton Academy and stink out the Barras). Preferring the output of one to the other is not taking sides. That would be judging them on anything other than their music.

apirk
I forgot you can't have an opinion in 2015 without someone getting upset To be fair no one said Hart was, in fact no one said anything about Mould before you brought him up. fuckinandsuckinandtouchin
I'm a huge Hüsker/Sugar/Bob Mould fan, but I've yet to hear anything by Grant Hart.. Where's a good place to start?... 'Intolerance'?
ExtraFox
Start with Intolerance. He did two albums with Nova Mob. I don't like The Last Days Of Pompeii (other than Admiral of the Sea which is excellent) but I do like their self titled album. I personally can't recommend anything he's done since then other than the Nova Mob version of No Promise Have I Made (full band rockin' version) which is on the Oeuvrevue compilation. billynomates
Good News For Midern Man is a great LP, and that was finally released on vinyl a year or two back. The Argument from last year is really good too, but it's a 'needs repeated plays' type of LP. I like both Nova Mob LPs but prefer the S/T.
