ericheartsu
the variations aren't realliy rare or anything, we mostly did them cause we had extra paper from the mike park sleeves. most likely they will be used for charity, or for test pressings, or be given out randomly. fuck if i know. <

adammuzzy
LOL i think it's just kinda funny how they only pressed 500 they're taking advantage of all of you!
hickey
I agree with muzzy...it's pretty annoying that everyone is doing all of these different colors and pressings. Do a pressing of 500 color and the rest black and leave it at that.
skanknsmile
the vinyl of course. They aren't even pressed yet... I know, I'm just impatient.
adammuzzy
i mean. everybody and their mother knows that they could easily sell a first pressing of 3000 copies. but why would they want to when half of you will buy every pressing!?!!??! gibby6385
^^Money. Everyone blames ebay for record prices being so high and such. No Idea really started this shit by pressing everything on so many colors. The shit sells out so lets press 100 more on Blue swirl with a dash of pink. Everyone buys the shit. skanknsmile
It's got to get messy in knowing exactly how many different variants there are. I didn't by this to flip nor for a complete color variation collection, I bought them because I want to hear the damn records and own them. This shit is b-a-n-a-n-a-s
adammuzzy
i wanted a copy of guided tour really bad but there are going to be so many subsequent pressings that i'm sure they second press pre-order will probably go up tomorrow or something except that's only a press of 200, with 37 variants

dante3000
No offense but why blame labels for the multiple variation madness? Var said when they started doing it, it was just something to make the records more fun and not that many people were doing it. Now, people expect it of them and a ton of folks would be pissed if they stopped. If someone wants to pay out the ass for a regular blue vinyl because it has a touch of green and is now 1/5, fuck let em. I don't blame labels for trying to move more product. I'd like to see different pressings done in higher numbers (a minimum of 300 per color or something) but hey that's life.
kurtz
I like the fact that labels like No Idea keep pressing different colors. That way if I miss an album's pre-order or something, I can still get it on color vinyl whenever I do purchase it. If you are a collector... tough. It's your choice to collect. Nobody is making you buy anything.

Trashed I'm pretty sure was supposed to be random colors, but the other two I'm pretty sure weren't done purposely.

adammuzzy
maybe if no idea had interesting colors that would be a different story
adamlikesmusic
They're about 50/50 when it comes to cool colors/no idea grey.

kurtz
The last record I ordered from No Idea was Glass & Ashes - Aesthetic Arrest LP. I opened it up and it was on black vinyl. That really made me laugh for some reason.
skylar
For what it's worth, we really have no idea how fast any of this stuff will sell, and we certainly didn't think it would sell out overnight. It is extremely expensive to press 3000 records (around $10,000), and we don't want to get stuck with a ton of records that nobody wants. We'll keep repressing it as long as people keep buying it.
