NewOldStock
Since my roadtrip through various parts of the states isn't too far away, thought it would be wise to start compiling some suggestions now. Would you like hit up some cool places at each stop - so have at it! LA San Fran Chicago Seattle Vancouver Nothing too specific I'm looking for so all types of stores are fair game. Also hitting a few smaller places like Whistler, Banff and Calgary so if there are any gems there... Cheers! museummouth
LA: Amoeba just to experience the size of it. Vacation Vinyl if you like punk and metal. Record Surplus is good too.

Record Surplus is good too. Amoeba is definitely on the list for that reason. I'll check out the others - thanks! 1 hour ago, Tidal Wave said: How does Chicago fit into this trip? Sorry, that's not the route - I just threw them all in a random order. Chicago is the end point (it's a long way, but we love Chicago). One Hundred Fifty-Two
For Chicago I recommend Reckless, Shuga, Permanent, and dusty groove. You can walk to all four from each other.
NewOldStock
Thanks for that - a great starting point. Another thread popped up for Seattle so that's covered that off for me too.
Dunc
Sf 1234 go and thrill house are my favorites but I really like punk rock. Rs94109 is a bit different but worth checking out.

zdkaiser
Sloth Records in Calgary was a smallish shop I enjoyed. Last time I was there the Canadian dollar was only $0.70 to $1 USD, so prices were good. Plus they had a lot of European titles that would be imports regularly in the US at inflated prices, but we're normally priced in Canada.
